Chardonnay Motor Lodge is a 4-star motel on the edge of Christchurch, only 8km from the airport. The motel offers modern guestrooms, free Wi-Fi and a free airport shuttle service. The motel offers a choice of open-plan studios or larger apartments which have a separate living room. All of the units have a kitchen, a large LCD TV and DVDs can be placed in the rooms on request. All rooms are serviced daily. The motel is located within large grounds and has a great garden. Leisure facilities include a barbeque area, playground and badminton court. Chardonnay Motor Lodge is only a 20 minute drive from the centre of Christchurch. There is free transport to and from the airport between 09.00-21.00 hours by arrangement and also a free shuttle to Christchurch Casino. Its close to where I needed to work the airport and a great variety of restaurants and shopping in close proximity.

It was near Willowbank where I attended a function, so cheap taxi. Room was fine for the short time I was in it. Good coffee / tea / chocolate drink selection. The main door does not have a blind, and an outside light is very bright through it. I thought I had left my bathroom light on! Quite noisy beside main road. Bathroom floor gets very wet if care isn't taken with shower head direction.

Very convenient to airport, grocery shopping, and restaurants. Quiet, friendly. We did not explore Christchurch, so cannot answer the following question.

Have stayed on 2 previous occasions A real park-like, country atmosphere Very restful, tasteful and relaxing. The young lady on reception was not all that welcoming. Did not seem to show an interest and was not very helpful in directing us to the Ellerslie Flower Show the next day. Not even sure she knew it was on!

Was handy to where we wanted to go while in Christchurch and unit was a reasonable size for a studio apartment. Couple running the motel appeared to be new as had difficulty with their systems but were helpful and courteous. Would be very handy to Airport and we believe they run a shuttle bus which is a good service. Bathroom was getting tired with tap in sink loose, Shower door and side screen had large gap at the bottom so water wet the bathroom floor.

Lovely situation, very friendly and comfortable. Didn't like the mice in the roof and noisy neighbour who had his radio quite loud when trying to sleep.
