Hosts Di and Ray were excellent. Our room was beautifully appointed and comfort able. Breakfasts were excellent. Location to town and the Basin a feature. If you love golf Ray is your man - expertise par excellence. Nothing not to like.

A beautiful old home with established garden settings. From the minute you see Chelsea House you realize you are going to be staying in a home with a class of its own. A Lovely setting and great hosts. Well done Diane and Ray. Not that we didnt like it, but suggest that there be the facility made for a TV and DVD, to be put into the bedroom, if privacy is wanted, rather than sitting out in the lounge, even though we could have the lounge to ourselves as other guests had gone out for dinner.

This was our first trip to Whangarei and Di and Ray made it a great experience. The accommodation was spotless and beautifully decorated, the breakfasts were delicious and the hosts made us feel right at home and offered some great advice about the area. The location was also ideal and was just a few minutes' drive from all the main attractions. I thoroughly recommend Chelsea House and we will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

This is not a hotel, it is a home! Wonderful experience, extremely friendly owners, beautiful room, good breakfast. Pity we could only stay for 1 night. Traffic noise in the morning from the street, already after 6 o'clock.
