Had a great stay at City Lodge - the staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was amazing, super clean and serviced everyday.. really great value for money. Close to Auckland centre - easy walking distance, but with a bit more peace and quiet. Would highly recommend!!! Thanks for having us :)

super friendly and helpful staff room was large enough even though it was a budget accommodation 15 minute walk from Queen Street

the noise of other guests coming in and out at odd hours throughout the night, as well as the street sweeping machine coming by at 3am - though of course this isn't the lodge's fault

Nice kitchen, free wifi, big living room

Did not find any problems with the place and was very nice.

Room too tiny for 2 and difficulty to get in and out of bed with only 1 side of the bed accessible.

It was clean and tidy for a backpackers and having a private room with an ensuite was great. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It was a little bit further from the viaduct than I thought but that's only a minor and a lack of my own knowledge of Auckland.

Room was adequate

Car parking was advertised as on site parking, when I got there was told it was $15. Noise all night long, people running up and down the hall and yelling, no sleep to be had whatsoever. Would not stay here again.

Cramp room. We experienced very little sleep due to the room being too hot with no air-con, chinese pepole arguing outside in the street and people making noise on either side with very thin walls.

Clean spacious room and bathroom with kettle and fridge. good kitchen, laundry and common room area. very handy for city centre. all staff helpful. plenty of places to buy food nearbyl

my room was quite hot and the street was a bit noisy

I arrived Very late at night but the staff were really helpful and the room ideal for my needs. The location is close to bus services into the centre as well as near shops / restaurants if you want to stay close by .

Room was clean and spacious enough. Cleaning service daily an extra bonus. Kitchen facility and communal area spacious and clean. Plenty of cooking facilities and utensils.

Very friendly and welcoming staff- I met Pol. He gave me all relevant info at check-in.

Only problem was noise from late night traffic and revellers on a Fri/Sat evening. Even with windows closed the side of the building my room was located in had excess noise.

The staff was very accomodating that we arrived in the middle of the night (we had contacted them beforehand). The bathroom and linens were very clean and we had many hotel-like items: a fridge, coffee, towels.

The staff in the morning wasn't as friendly. When we asked them what they would recommend as their "must-do" for Auckland, a staff member told us we should have woken up earlier (we had arrived in Auckland at 3am and were on our way out at 11am). There was a food-ish smell in the hallways and elevator and there was mold in our refrigerator (the desk staff didn't seem to care when we told them upon our departure).
