This motel was perfect, the spa was well used after days of travelling and sight seeing. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Our pool side cottage was very clean and comfortable. Loved the wood pigeons in the tree.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on March 11, 12, 13 and wished our schedule had allowed a couple more days there. We were greeted with wine and fresh-baked, delicious cookies. We found the newly renovated suite to be wonderfully fresh. The kitchenette was well stocked. The shower was spacious and gorgeous – a delight to use. We used the BBQ one evening and the pool was nice and refreshing. Our hosts were very pleasant and accommodating offering lots of advice about local attractions and restaurants. One evening was very still and humid for sleeping, and they promptly brought a second fan to help keep us cool. We were very satisfied & would highly recommend. No suggestions for improvement.

Lovely hosts, who made you feel very welcome. Was offer a wine and home- made cookies on arrival was a nice touch. Also recommendations for dinner, The Pear Tree which was very nice indeed. We had noisy neighbours but not the fault of the owner.

The 3 units that we stayed at for 3 nights were all very well presented. There as enough room in the studios for a couple to feel comfortable and the 1-room unit was more than adequate. We had 6 people dine in both types of unit and it worked well. Shower was excellent and the bathrooms very nicely appointed with glass transparent hand basins and very modern fittings. Wifi should be complimentary as it is really an essential part of modern life especially when you need information in an unfamiliar environment. Unit exterior doors need to be attended to as they let down the overall standard if the units which in every other respect represent excellent value.

The owners, Andrea and Alan were so friendly and helpful. We were met with a glass of wine, fresh baked cookies and a jug of milk for our tea or coffee. They helped us with recommendations on dining and places to visit. Our studio (#12) had been recently renovated to a very high standard and proved to be very quiet. We would definitely return there when in the area. Nothing

The location is excellent - a short walk to the Old Stone Store and town centre, also very quiet as set back from the road, which now ends at the old stone store, so not a great deal of through traffic. The pool was an absolute bonus - lovely temperature, salt water, great after a day of exploring, plus the spa. We were given a lovely welcome with biscuits and wine, plus really good information about the local area. The motel is also a booking office.

Beautiful peaceful setting, tremendously welcoming hosts and a cute cat-in-the-box! Was the best place I'd stayed in on my 2week road trip and although I thought it a bit far from the shopping area, the walks to the waterfalls were easily done without driving. Nothing!

Very nice host. Hostess even gave you delightful little cookies--lovely personal touch. There were no security catches on any of the windows. Whatever cleaning products they use left a very unpleasent smell in the rooms and I felt I needed to open all window to air the rooms. The smell was very offensive- a damp mouldy smell Having said that the rooms were clean except for the mould above the shower. The gardens could be made a real attraction with a small amount of work eg: clearing to tall grass between units

Just driving up the bushy avenue into the motel grounds made us feel good. Andrea and Alan are very amiable and obliging hosts and help to give the motel a very homely feel. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Down the hill (within walking distance) are two excellent restaurants and also the start of a walking track to Whareputi and Rainbow Falls.
