Bed was comfy, having our own balcony was great. Tv had good reception. Cheap parking.
Our room was clean on first appearance however closing inspection revealed the cleaning had barley been done, found long strands of hair everywhere, in the bed, throughout the bathroom. Rooms having everything you need however could do with an update, scuffing on all pieces of furniture, hand print on bedspread.
The availability of free Wi-Fi was inconvenient (only in the lobby) and very short (30 minutes). It seems inadequate in this day and age.
Out side pool and staff service, fantastic. Bed was extremely comfortable.
One night no water next night free water. Room service was a bit expensive.
I'm always surprised by a lack of free wi-fi in a good hotel. I would encourage you to consider providing free wi-fi to guests. This is a major drawcard. (I would tend to book a place with free wi-fi over one with paid wi-fi).
John Newland, General Manager was excellent!
Hotel was in need of some maintenance. Couch leg lying below in the bar area, room was needing painted and a face lift.
Beds are too small!
Location and cleanliness of room
Hotel a bit dated
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Went the extra mile to help.Room was functional but not too cluttered.Lovely bathroom and very comfy bed.
The bed was comfy, and its a great location, 10 min stroll down to the Brittomart.
We had constant cigarette smells coming into our room through the air conditioning vents. Told the staff about it but there was little they could do. The room wasn't serviced/made up and the decor is showing a bit of wear and tear.
Breakfast-special offer Quality of meals Helpful reception staff Overall value for money
Area not particularly attractive
the veiw of our room and the good staff that work their was great
Comfortable room, easy walking distance to city centre.
The aircon was very noisy, we could not have it on during the night. The fridge made a loud humming noise. It was very difficult to get the jug under the basin tap to fill with water. No complimentary biscuits, no free WiFi.
Nothing terribly stellar, but nothing horrible either. Good location.
Check-in desk unattended, when the staff member did appear his shirt was hanging out and quite off-hand. In the restaurant the steak was out of sight, hiding under the egg.
I liked everything.
Excellent location when attending ASB Classic or Heineken Open.
Convent to CBD. Clean room. Friendly staff that were available.
Wifi should be free. Delay checking in and out. Not enough staff on front desk.
handy to the tennis
Probably the friendliest and most helpful reception and catering staff that I have ever encountered.
Very ' battered", tired room. Tiny bathroom. Two single beds (of different heights!) pushed together and called a king. All for the astronomical cost of $ 252 NZ for a single occupant.
Staff friendly and when asked for extra towel was delivered within couple of minutes
When switched on shower the head came flying off, looked like had been broken for a while, had to hold shower head on when switched tap on and then could not move it or would come off again.
Got a good night's sleep both nights I stayed here. Bed comfortable. Ran noisy airconditioning all night - and still managed to sleep really well. Good location for attending a concert at Vector Arena.
Bathroom sink had huge cracks in it. I stayed 2 nights here - on my second day I got back to my room late in the afternoon to find it hand't been cleaned or made up during the day (which is standard everywhere else you stay). I had to ring Reception to get a fresh set of towels. It was a terrible mission to make tea and coffee - two small cups only provided, tea hard to get to, the only safe place to boil the jug was the bathroom. Room and furniture very tired and shabby looking. Definately not worth the $250 a night I paid for staying here. I normally stay at the Scenic in Auckland (which sadly was full), where for that money I'd get a one bedroom apartment, with a separate bedroom, lounge and kitchenette. Very over priced for what is probably a 2 or 3 at best star hotel.
Got home after very long day at and early check in that morning- only 1 bed in our room for me and my father at 1am!, Not what we had booked, they said it was our fault! Took 40min to sort out a substandard room with broken toilet door and a tiny bed
Staff were helpful but didn't add anything to my experience.
To far to walk with bags from Queen street and nothing around to see so you had to walk a long way or taxi. To hotel was nice but old in a tired kind of way. Needs renovation.a bit disappointed but so tired it didn't matter.
