Excellent,excellent- we had our evening meal there and it was absolutely delicious. We liked that the wine was picked for the courses and it was really good- desert was yummy. The food at the conference was also superb. Staff were great. Loved the indoor pool- few minute walk to TePapa which I had never visited- car parking was great with the service to park our car for us, as we are from the rural area I was really nervous about having to find parking. A+++ for everything -we will stay there again if ever in Wellington. Thanks

I thought the location was exceptional, the hotel was stylishly decorated and the rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The staff were efficient and friendly and took care of our car and bags and even looked after them for the day after we'd checked out. I have travelled a lot in the us and found this service quite unusual because in the States they see terrorists around every corner and hotels will not look after your bags for you after you have checked out in case there is a bomb in your suitcase. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and also thought the service and offering at your breakfast restaurant was great. The only criticism I could have is in regards to when we first pulled up, there is very little room to park out in front of the hotel which is understandable due to its location, however once we had parked and gone inside, our car was taken care of by your valet's and there was not issues what so ever.

We thought it was a great place until we were woken up at 8 am by the digger working out the back of your hotel,it thoroughly spoilt what would have been a most perfect weekend.

Suitable for a short stay - handy to the city, but with a great view. My booking report came out with wording to the effect that I do not smoke - this is not the case and I did not indicate this. If the hotel does not cater for smokers they should say so in the blurb - I will stay somewhere else. A little overpriced, but I did book at short notice. The price of breakfast in New Zealand is silly - $20 for cornflakes and toast. A full breakfast in Koh Samui is $8. They obviously want people to eat out. But if we ate breakfast there we would spend more money at the hotel.

Short walk to Te Papa and Theatre district in Courtenay Place. Beds are old and extremely uncomfortable, pillows old, hard and with musty smell. Neither of us slept much at all. For $224 a night (on a special rate..!) this is unaccapetable and comfort of beds and bedding needs to be addressed if you the hotel is going to attract repeat business. For the calibre rating and pricing this hotel has it just does not stack up in comfort. Shower over bath also not particularly deluxe. All other ammenities and presentation of rooms (except very odd twin room set up when not requested which seems unneccessary and takes up so much space..) - Upgrade the beds and bedding and we'll return, otherwise no point staying in a hotel you can't sleep in...

I liked that my mother was made to feel welcome. (She is a little eccentric and difficult to please!) Her grand children were given games to play with by staff, who were very helpful. I like that there are apples on the counter. When I arrived from the international airport I was starving, and had not eaten since morning. It was 1.am. I was able to snack on an apple while waiting for room service, which was still operating throughout the night. I liked that when staff made a mistake concerning my late check out, (see below) they made an effort to put things right by waiving the regular fee. I like that my mum and I have a place to meet whenever I am flying from Brisbane at strange late hours! I liked that my sentimental bracelet was discovered and returned to me even before I had completed checking out, thanks to the vigilance and kindness of room service. The only thing I was not too happy about was the lack of care taken by duty staff in reading notes, or corresponding with each other properly about my late check out request. I specifically a asked for a late check out because of the late time of my arrival (nearly 2.am). By the time I had something to eat and a quick chat with my mum, it was 4am, and I needed 8 hours sleep, being jetlagged. I made arrangements before going to my room so as not to be disturbed in the morning. I had paid for a larger room than necessary, so that it would be quieter in the morning - with having my young neice with us. I put the 'privacy requested' sign on the door. Despite all of this, my mother and niece, and I were all woken up by the phone when reception wanted to know why we hadn't checked out at 10am. Although she was apologetic, we were all unable to get back to sleep and had a long drive ahead of us, tired. So I would say that better communication between staff needs to happen (or better note taking, regarding comments left by night staff for the next shift, etc. Also.. Just as an aside, it would be lovely if there could be a record kept of guests, so that they are 'remembered' when they stay repeatedly. I know it would mean a lot to mum if staff acknowledged her and noted that she was a 'regular', and could make friendly chat with her along those lines. It would give the hotel a friendly, informal feel.. A personal touch. Of course staff couldn't be expected to remember individual guests, but it would be lovely if guests were made to feel as though they were remembered, made to feel special, per Se. :-)

Close to everything in Wellington. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely room overlooking all of Wellington. No free car parking which we felt for the price was ludicrous.
