Location half way between ski field and Queenstown - great
Dilapidated state of the resort
Good budget option
stayed couple of nights, room service wasn't good
The location was handy only 4km from Queenstown centre & less then 1km from Shot over river & coronet peak. Also the bowling/ arcade was a bonus too. And access to a hot spa was divine.
There was no 'service' in the hotel although the staff was friendly they remained behind the reception desk. No help with bags or other small consessions. What you see is what you get, which could have gone a makeover.
The price was good and room to park cars
Food in restaurant was overpriced for the quality of it.
Nothing, apart from few good staff
Grotty, very dirty, run down, stinky rooms, damp, inhospitable
Games area, and good breakfast.
Room was unclean, dirty smudges on the doors and walls, insufficient towels provided, heater was faulty and a loud ticking noise and sparks were visible, tried to speak to reception staff but Indian man at counter had limited english speaking abilities and after giving up on trying to communicate to him we returned to our room and switched heater off. Woke in morning after a poor sleep to a cold room and to share a bath towel. Highly dissappointed. WILL NOT EVER RETURN TO THIS SUBSTANDARD MOTEL.
It was comfortable for what I needed and at a cheap price.staff were friendly although my reservation hadn't been entered yet and I had booked over four hours before I arrived.
It was quite noisey early in the morning with kids running up and down the hallways. Not the hotels fault but was unpleasant. Also rooms are quite dated and need flat screen tv's and new beds/furniture. Shower curtain was too short and water went everywhere and also water switched between hot and cold every few seconds!
comfortable beds,spa,good water pressure
old TV, mold on walls and shower, used shampoo bottles not replaced, wires cut on electric blankets and didn't go, need more than one key so there's power when other people leave
Nathing at all
Good value for money.
No thermostat for the heater!! What Gives Too hot or too cold, this place is full of electric heaters and this must cost you a fortune, Get some controls fitted and save yourself big Dollars. Can help if you like as we are Heating Engineers and I can reffer you to a local installer.
Price was the only good thing.
Buckets in reception because roof was leaking. Old fashioned TV in rooms. Décor needed updating. Lack of staff in the bar when watching the rugby, no one behind bar for the whole game so not able to purchase a drink. Kitchen in bowling alley closed early. Very disappointing stay.
Restaurant on site Location, close to ski field Tenpin
No sky TV Only free Wi Fi for one user per room
Location Privacy Good atmosphere Convenient breakfasts
Dinner. The food served was maybe realistically priced but for the same money one can have much tastier diner in town.
Wifi was good. everything else was bad.
We were overwhelmed by a very strong mould/mildew smell and requested another room, the first where the lights in the room were not working so all they could offer was a room with 3 x king singles. We were told to wait and then we were shown the room, the cleaner was in there and had obviously just sprayed air freshener. There were about 6 towels just in the second entry for two days soaked with rain water which you could tell was leaking through the walls from the ceiling, the walls had obvious water damage that showed years of leaking .Mould lined the art works. The staff member made a comment that they had heavy rain like that was an excuse and they were going to renovate, but I very much doubt it. Tv was small and old, only picked up channel 1 and 2. shower curtain was green and mouldy at the bottom. The price of 100 a night was no excuse for any of this.
dark black hairs in the bed
Everything was good.
The wifi is only for one dispositive.
They didnt make up our 4-person room on the 2nd day... :(
The staff there especially Marcella were really helpful and during a false fire alarm were very informative and got us back in as soon as it was safe
The rooms looked and felt like they hadn't been renovated since the early 90's. We had to switch rooms after the 2nd night and it hadn't been cleaned and still had the previous guests dirty tissues on the floor, the shower had pubes on the floor and the sheets were dirty.
cheap and quite
The bowling facilities on site
It's very dated, not very clean, would not visit again.
Snapped up a great deal with breakfast included for 3 nights in July, family of 4. No surprises on the bill, WiFi reception was good- free for 1 device, room heater worked quickly, warm in the hotel, ski gear airing rooms. Decor and fittings were aesthetically survivable. Bowling alley was 2 thumbs up, over-sized Jenga & a bar there, games machines were good to keep the kids busy. Nice view of tall mountains from outside. An Icy spot in July.
A few niggles- not the cleanest room, 1 or 2 weird hot water issues, damp window ledge, 3 small cups (4 people). Still enjoyed the stay.
Free hourly Bus Shuttle service to City Centre
Location very far from city & costs A$ 20 each way if bus missed!
The beds were comfortable
The restaurant wasn't value for money, couldn't use the bowling alley coz it was booked out, the staff weren't that helpful especially when booking it, it was noisy, the TV was average and the shower wasn't that great
The rooms were large and clean. The strike bowl and video games were an added advantage.
The shuttle bus only ran every hour and at one time I had to pay for a taxi at $32 because the shuttle wouldn't take us back to the hotel after a long day of skiing.
Location close to the ski field Restaurant on site Adequate rooms Excellent value for money
No sky tv in rooms Only 1 device access to free Wi-Fi
