I had an accident falling into the shower box and broke the wall lining. The staff on duty were very concerned about me not the wall. I could not have asked for better service, they then shifted us to another unit as we could not use the shower in the accident unit. Excellent all round we found and very helpful with any queries re laundry travel etc. The units are getting a bit tired looking.

My sister and I were in Whangarei to organise our father's funeral and stayed at the Cypress Court for four nights. The hotel staff were friendly, sympathetic and welcoming and helped to make a very emotional and exhausting time much easier for us. Looking a bit tired, especially in the bathrooms.

Christine was most helpful, friendly and obliging, and did everything possible to make our short stay a happy one, providing information about trips, walks, places to eat and visit. Congratulations on her recent entry into the Rough Guide - well deserved!

Very welcoming and helpful owners. Rooms was spacious with good basic facilities. (We had a free upgrade to a more spacious room than we had booked as they were quiet). By fairly busy road, so a little bit noisy with traffic in the morning....but not a real problem. Location is just out of town centre, so need to drive in (but very handy for supermarket and riverside / park walks)

It ideally suited a longer stay; certainly more so than a hotel might for example. Having a proper table and chairs that could be used for a long time (again, unlike most hotels). Spacious; functional without pointless fripperies. Close to a large supermarket, plus any number of food restaurants/take-aways.

Lovely hospitality from the staff Very old interior - needs renovations, bathroom not that nice and needs an AC or heat pump.

The welcome after a long trip from Gisborne was heart-warming. The support to get our bearings around the city, through map - support and directions was readily offered. The room was perfect for our needs, to sleep, to work a little with the free use of the internet, of cooking our own meals, of supermarkets very close by and the venue that we were going to was also very close by. The pricing was very reasonable considering motels and hotels were booked to the hilt with the Kapa Haka competitions being on. We had two bulbs not working - these small things needed to have been fixed or checked. We did get one replaced ourselves from the office and saw that another was needed later in the night but coped without it.

I really enjoyed the privacy. It was definitely a comfortable place to sleep... For what it was and how cheap it was it was perfect. Small, quiet, clean. It is nothing spectacular but i No internet access...
