Owner very friendly and close to town centre. Good facilities with biggish kitchen. Nice and quiet location.
Close to town, good facilities.
Town alarm for volunteer fire service pretty much next to the house, went off both nights we were there so not the best nights sleep! Sounds like a war raid siren- so so loud!
Stunning location Beautiful seaview Nice terrace Well-equipped and clean kitchen Cleanliness in room, as well
Personnel was really nice and committed
Beds are too short, or I'm too long...
Close to the Kaikoura center
The host is really warm and friendly. We chat with three interesting Germany young people, spending their working holiday here. The kitchen facilities are nice, too.Unforgettable stay!
Excellent location for walking into town. Magnificent view of the mountains.
On a wet day the internal dining area is taken up by people sitting using it as a lounge. One of the electric cooker rings had a poor connection - not acceptable from a safety point of view.
Spa and location were great
Toilets a little cramped
Nice location easy access to the town and beach. Good facilities and very clean, stayed in a 4 bed dorm and there was plenty of space.
Plug socket was on a 1 hour timer so was difficult to charge electricals in the room.
Just off the Main Street with lovely views of the ocean. Well kept garden with a number of seating areas including a hammock and a steamy outdoor spa bath.
Internet is limited but that is not the fault of the inn. I think only satellite internet is available in the area so prices are high.
Location is good within walking distance to town centre. It has a great view of mountains and sea. The common kitchen is clean, comprehensive and gives a homely atmosphere. The bathroom is modern and clean.
The bedroom is too compact and there is no closet for hanging clothes. The electricity usage is limited to only one hour and annoyingly you have to reset it every time.
Great location and fantastic facilities. Friendly helpful staff.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Easy walk into town. Very clean and a good atmosphere.
Nice and clean and not to far from the town.
Was a little bored but the weather was rubbish. The hostel up the road had a TV room which would have been nice here as the weather was awful.
what a cute little backpacker! / had a lovely stay / very cosy / spa pool for free
just two sockets per 6er dorm
Helen The View! The People! Free herbs like rosemary etc from the garden and free spices
(For me) Very much chlorid/chemicals in the Spa
A bit of a climb to get to the lodge
Perfect location, 2 mins walk from the bus stop (same pathway to St Paul Presbyterian Church). The owner is very nice and helpful.
nice kitchen and communal area. great views
it was very cold in the room and the heating didn't work properly
Great location an easy walk into the town, amazing view from the decking of the lodge. Great value for money. Quiet lodge we didn't know what to expect for backpackers but was better than we were expecting. Great people. There is a hammock and hot tub to chill out in and relax definitely recommending using. Helen was really friendly and helpful too.
Town fire siren going off at 5am but this couldn't be helped by lodge. There was nothing we didn't like about the lodge for the money we paid.
-great location -friendly owner -good sized rooms -great view
Relaxed atmosphere, good facilities. comfortable and beautiful views of the bay and maountains.
A little busy with other guests some of which were a little noisy last thing at nihgt and early morning.
The friendly helpful staff and guests. Wi-fi, location.
Friendly Family owned Tasty fish and chips around the corner. Space to park Quiet location. Good Value for money.
No view from bedroom window
Fantastic view, very comfortable, helpful staff.
A very loud middle-of-the-night fire siren just up the hill, but a notice is posted on the refrigerator.
