Amazing views, stylish rooms, great food on room service and the latest movies...fantastic time in Wellington at the Amora
The room was quiet, clean and well appointed. It had a modern feel. The staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist us to carry our excessive luggage.
There were't any negatives.
The best placed hotel in Wellington. One of a few that feels like an international hotel in the Wellington region
The rice base of the fish dish was a little undercooked. The mattress was rather uncomfortable.
The room was spacious and light. Lovely view of the harbour. Room service was speedy and well presented, delivered by a nice, friendly staff member. Awesome txt when room ready. This was very convenient for us having travelled early. Staff allowed us to check our bags in which also meant we could move through the day without our cumbersome luggage. Made all the difference.
Noise from outside easily heard through windows. Would have liked plunger coffee in the room.
This was my second year to stay at the Amora, and everything was excellent. First, the location of the hotel is convenient to everything. Second, the room itself was clean and comfortable. Third, the staff were friendly and extra helpful with my special requests. Fourth, the fold-out bed was actually comfortable. Fifth, both years I stayed in a club room which included breakfast in the club lounge...very nice.
The view of the harbor is being partially blocked by new construction.
This Hotel was in exactly the right spot it was close to the harbour and only a short walk to Wellington town, we had a Delux room on the top floor which gave us an uninterrupted view of the harbour it was fabulous we also had access to the Hotel lounge on the top floor for breakfasts and before dinner drinks. All in all just the best
Good valet service
Expensive for New Zealand.
Good size bedroom and good view. Prompt make up of room. 30 mins free wifi better than nothing. Good service from desk staff.
Noise from air conditioner
Location Staff a pleasure to deal with
Large room with a great view over Wellington Harbour. Clean and well appointed.
HOWEVER THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND THE BED WAS REALLY COMFORTABLE.
THE ROOM THAT I HAD WAS RIGHT ABOVE THE CANOPY SO I WAS A LITTLE DISAPOINTED WITH MY FIRST VISIT TO WELLINGTON IN 10 YEARS THAT IT WAS NOT A NICER VIEW.
Very friendly staff,a pleasure to deal with The young lady Emma who check us in was very nice
View, location, staff, breakfast, housekeeping.
Shower (YOU NEED SOME SERIOUS UPDATING - SHOWER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN A HOTEL), you need that little thing were you put the card and turns the whole room on and off, wifi was invented 20 years ago (make it available for free).
Awesome location for Cuba Street, Te Papa Museum, i-Site, transport to/from Weta Workshop, underground market, restaurants and bars, theatres, shopping, rental car hire. Nice spacious room. Ask for one of the higher floors as the view is pretty good.
I requested an early checkin, but my room wasn't available when I arrived. I arrived at 12.30pm and was told the room wouldn't be ready until around 2.00pm (fair enough as my early checkin was only on request). I was told someone would text me when my room was ready. At almost 3.00pm I called the hotel to ask if my room was ready yet and they said yes (I didn't receive a text to say so). I was also told my suitcase was in my room. It wasn't, so I had to go all the way back to reception to get it. That was the only glitch. The rest of my stay was good.
The meal we ordered was beautifully cooked and presented. First class.
Shame the view has gone.some furniture needs replacing
Central location. Clean and modern.
A bit noisy on the first floor. Poor sound proofing in door.
A friendly greeting when we arrived and a very helpful check-in and move to our room. The room was great - in the 600 range with a wonderful view of the Wellington waterfront. Room was clean, very tidy and well appointed.
Being limited to just one night because of business commitments elsewhere.
Hotel location is very good
Lots of noisy creaking from the ceiling/upstairs, woke me up at night. Waiting to check-out: front desk staff member way too occupied with her computer to actually serve customers...
Hotel location, staff and cleanliness were just great. It is CLOSE to EVERYTHING. Museum is across the street. Lots of shops, bars, restaurants nearby. We walked everywhere and had a great time. Hotel bar and lobby areas were very nice.
There was new construction going on across the street - so a bit noisy during the day (not the hotels fault).
The quality of food in restaurant. I dined with an invited guest and found food and service excellent.. I would return to restaurant for this very reason alone.
Problems with first room. Air conditioning was not working. Typically staff went to 'look' but no action only pulled curtains. I had to physically go to reception and get room changed. Not very good service regarding this issue. Disappointing infact.
Entrance area was very tastefully decorated.
Behind the glitzed of the entrance hall was quite a bland room with a very dated bathroom. Given the room description stated 'sea view', we could barely glimpse a meter of the harbor water let alone the sea. Far to pricy for just the convenience of the location....
Loved the space and the view and even though it is a smart hotel there was a free Laundry facility
Clean and tidy, nice view,Worth the extra for club room and benefits.
slow to keep breakfast food topped up with only 8 people in the room.
Very handy to where we needed to be for a wedding reception. Clean and enough space for the 3 of us.
Unfortunately parking building next door wasnt open so had to go to Te Papa - first staff member mentioned they had an arrangement for the parking there but eluded to tell us we need a ticket so that the parking was free - thanks to the receptionist on leaving we didnt have to pay the $30.00 again. Some loss tiles in the doorway to bathroom were annoying always managed to catch my toes on them.
