Style and comfort. Sunday mornings desk staff member was bright and breezy, despite the early hour at which we talked!

Saturday evening desk staff member was taciturn, and seemed put out by the imposition of hotel guests. Hotel room was very dark! I'm keen to save energy too, but I do need some light to see by.

Love it, building has a lot of character. Good value for the money

Breakfast needs an earlier time option and non dairy food option eg soya milk Bed a little soft. Be great to have a newspaper in the morning.

THe lower part of the building with the revamp of historical building which lent authenticity to Timaru and origins of the build.

The back packer feel of the rooms. But this may be the way to go, in which case needs to be advertised as such. Did not spoil our stay.

The lift!!

Room not clean...dead spiders, dust room noisey, could hear thru walls and traffic. Not good value worth more like $60 a night (or less) because of uncomfortable mattress, flat pillows, noise, uncleanliness

Spacious room, very comfortable, very friendly staff and fantastic breakfast! Only stayed one night passing through to Dunedin but would highly recommend.

The refurb had run out of money after the first floor.

Historic building in prime central location: but very quit.

Decor of first floor is a 1960's nightmare. The interior designer should be shot! Touquoise panels and Formica - you gotta be joking?

Only slept between the 15minute Town clock 'gongs' So got up exhausted. Dreadful lack of empathy between Timaru D.C. and visitors. It was like having Big Ben in your room.Visitors dont have the luxury of time to get used to it.

I was very happy with my stay, for the type hotel it was a great place to stay.

A few truck drives etc stay there and you can hear them leave at 4:30am.

The room was dated and the location next to the port/above the pub, made it a noisy area to stay in.

Adequate parking across the street. Close to city centre.

Generally old and tired. Bathroom very dated. Massive gap under poorly secured door. No fridge. Furniture old. Tacky murals in hotel and corridors. Murals on toilet doors off the lobby were crass and in really bad taste. In short, a strange place left from a bygone era that is in desperate need of a facelift for the 21st century.

Following my last stay, things had improved significantly - thank you. Staff were really friendly.

Simple and clean with all the basics for a comfortable stay, the staff where great and very friendly - would stay here again.

On arrival the two young ladies on reception were friendly and efficient just great. The room was clean the bed was very comfortable with lovely clean fresh linen. I had a single room its decor was lovely and bright. fresh. It would be great to have a small luggage table in the room otherwise top marks. while I didnt have a meal there I did get a drink and to the girls in there also top marks for there service. Well done all round
