Awesome atmosphere and brilliant location! The WiFi isn't free... but that is a common New Zealand thing I guess.

Cheap price and better rooms than other hotels. Including larger bed, balcony, privacy. Front desk staff could be friendlier.

Beautiful setting, helpful staff, nice room, nice facilities, fantastic view of the Remarkables from the balcony (probably one of best spots in Queenstown). Electric wall sockets in difficult spots, Internet very expensive, a pillow menu with feather pillows available would make comfort perfect..

Family friendly and great facilities with the pool, gym and tennis court which we all enjoyed. Lovely friendly gardener. Villas very roomy and decor neutral Main building smelt of old food smells which was off putting. It was a beautiful day and perhaps an airing of the dining room would have lessened the smell. The heaters in the villa were noisy which put us off having the heaters on. We thought it would be rather a cold place inside in winter because of this. My son wishes to comment that its overgrown around tennis courts.

I loved the style, natural colours and materials and comfortable elegance of the place. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, particularly in the excellent restaurant. We loved the historic photos of people from the old days in Queenstown, especially the ones of sporty women playing tennis, and skating and skiing in fetching but bizarre costumes. The only improvement I could suggest would be to update the rooms with Ipod docks. I was a bit disappointed not to be able to play my music. But this is a minor point and easily remedied. Thank you for a very pleasant three days. Lois Madden

The view from our room in the Lake View building was stunning. Staff were friendly and cooperative. We had a comfortable stay after sorting out an initial problem with our room. The hotel decor is tired and the rooms need updating. When we booked, I was careful to book a room which had an uninerrupted view of the lake. I had been to Queenstown before and chosen the hotel for its location, knowing the view would be good. When we checked in, I was given a room in the Waterfall building. I knew this would not give me the view I required and questioned this fact. I was encouraged to view the room and if I was not happy, we would be moved to a room in the Lake View building. I did so which confirmed my fear regarding the view and we were moved to a room in the Lake View building. There was no extra charge despite the fact that I was dvised earlier that should we want this room, there would be an extra $50 per night charge. I was very happy with the outcome but felt that the description of the first room was misleading stating "includes clear lake views". This was not the case in the Waterfall building, the view being mainly from the balcony and obstructed by buildings.

It was beautiful and we stayed in a villa with 5 adults and it was perfect for what we wanted, it was a shame that we didn't stay longer to use all the amenities

I love the pool, the views of the mountains, the hotel as a whole is very relaxing. Our room 310 lakeside was quite noisy with the traffic and garbage dumping. The food was not great, the flat whites were really bad.

Location and happy hour Complimentary canapes were restricted to 2 trays. On one night both trays were the same, so if you didnt like prawns you were stuffed. The TV in the room is out of date with todays technology. No one uses old TV with aspect ration 4:3 anymore. In fact we stayed at budget accn in small towns and got flatscreen TVs in the room. No point inbeing able to boon movies that are in widescreen mode but the TV isnt. Most disappointing part of the service.

Great venue for a big family get-together. Child-friendly, warm & welcoming (loved the log fires), excellent buffet breakfast, very helpful staff. We all appreciated the free bus service. The villas (where our son & family stayed) are exceptional. Would certainly recommend to friends. Maybe shower gel in bathrooms would be good.

The Villas were fantastic, Ideal home away from home for a visit to Queenstown. Well heated especially the underfloor in the bathroom onsuite. I would recommend a stay at the villas to anyone as this is value for money when you can sleep six.
