upgraded to one bedroom unit everything we needed, very comfortable

Very well kept facilities, comfortable bed, good location for those wanting to walk into the town centre (it's about a 15 minute walk) and friendly staff.

We stayed 3 nights and found that the lounge area didn't function that well as a room, the furniture seemed a bit misplaced, e.g. with no sofa to sit on, just a couple of chairs, and the TV was on the wrong wall (we had to move the chairs to be able to view the TV in comfort). That said I'd stay there again.

Our late arrival did nothing to deter our hosts from offering a courteous welcome and a lot of info, including where to eat, and what to see. They were locals and made our stay very enjoyable.A most welcome change for the better. Top marks.

The wet and windy evening on our second night, that stopped us getting to see the penguins. I'm sure they missed us too!!

This was absolutely brilliant. We were upgraded on check in which was a very pleasant surprise. Our room was at the back of the property, well away from the road and very quiet. The room was spotless, roomy and very well appointed and the Proprietor was exceptionally helpful.

The warm and friendly greeting and willingness of the owners, Ross and Debbie Ward, to share information about local attractions. Ross was also helpful by phoning a local restaurant advising we were on the way so that we were not disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble for either of our hosts. We were escorted to our Unit which was heated in readiness for our arrival and were shown how to operate the wall heater etc. The standard of cleaning in the unit was excellent and the bed was a delight to sleep in! Most comfortable with bed linen of high quality. Summary: Wonderful greeting, caring hosts, well appointed smart unit, warm and extremely quiet due to double glazing.

Having to depart after only two nights! Seriously, there was nothing we didn't like about Highfield Mews.

Our suite had all the comforts of home and more, and only minutes away from the historic district. Loved the spa tub! Desk staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Agree with other review that entrance was not obvious and we weren't sure if we were entering the right driveway.

Excellent luxury accommodation. Friendly welcome and good advice on which route to take for onward journey. Oamaru is a delightful historic town with good restaurants.

Being woken up at midnight as someone left the alarm on!

This is a fantactically good motel. The accommodation is marvellous. Even a separate bedroom with its own TV. Every thing in the room was to an extremely high standard and appeared to be brand new! One of the best motels we have stay in recently.
