Bar and staff
Small room noisy aircon right by bed
Good internet and nice people a big staff
Clean no so good is poor if you compares with other good things that it has
Room was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed.
No t-towels couldnt wash the dishes
it was a debacle after the test match, phones not answered and my inquiry with a girl on the front desk was met with what appeared to be a diffident attitude, beuing advised that she could not say how long it would take to get room service as the "rugby rush was on"
ok it was test match night, but to expect a bar set up on a trestle table with a tin for change to service as much beer as possible, not what what was expected. also we received no service whatsoever and had to go out to eat, room service was non existent.
Very comfortable room Helpful staff breakfast at Portlander excellent
Room service meal ordinary
Facilities were great and very comfortable.
I became very ill overnight for the next 24 hrs. We had eaten at the Portlander restaurant the night before so am questioning if this was some sort of food poisoning.
Overall great just a little confused with the valet but they soon sorted that out for us
room to small no arm chairs
The staff were amazing, so polite and accommodating. Portlander Restaurant is great - wonderful food and atmosphere, and again great staff.
Good position, handy for everything. Staff were helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the cooked buffet breakfasts.
Location was great and we couldn't fault the Hotel. Will come again.
Good location, breakfast was a good deal as we had 2 for 1 (for $29.50 p/p it is overpriced), good size room and bathroom, clean and tidy.
beds too soft, they also have the annoying habit to charge for credit card use (2%), "free" wifi is limited to 2 GB and you can only use one device.
Located close to the event we were attending at Westpac Stadium, and only a 10-15 minutes walk to Cuba St & the central area. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the bar/restaurant was pleasant with good service & food.
When you arrive they hold a deposit on your credit card and it should be released after you check out. After 3 days of having left Wellington, I'm still waiting for the money to be released from my credit card. Considering we did not break or damaged anything in the room it seems a bit slack withholding the money for as long.
Proximity to business. Comfy bed and pillows.
Couldn't leave the heater on as it was too noisy. Not really a biggy as the bed was so snugly.
The staff and tyhe hotel in general where all very pleasant and if I can contiue to find prices under $200 a night I will endevour to stay at the Rydges hotel when I visit Wellington which is about once every 2 months.
The valet parking was very difficult to get into. I finished my business call at about 5.20pm and had to drive around the block 4 times before a space opened for me to get my vehicle into. I checked in at close to 6pm. I wish I had a solution but don't. I was very close to being a deal breaker for future consideration when I am looking for accommodation.
That staff were happy to move us from level 17 to level 4 cause we felt uncomfortable so high
Location, room layout and staff response.
We didn't eat there. Breakfast was a silly price; also disappointed to be charged $30 for secure parking overnight (less than 12 hours)
Breakfast was fantastic
The bed/pillows - such a good sleep Our room had two beds and my grand-daughter just loved having a bit one all to herself. I thought it was really good and would stay there again definitely
Just the parking scenario, we managed to park for free for the night, valet parking was available but it was full. So parking is probably at a premium considering where it is located.
Hotel was well place to catch ferry next day. Room was well appointed and bed comfortable. Staff were very capable.
The restaurant was a disappointment. My steak was fine but certainly not up to the hype it was given in the lift advertising. The french onion soup was awful, my toast was ok but my husbands was charred. My husbands fish pie he says was disgusting and having to pay for additional sides added insult to injury as the mains were very pricey. We used the restaurant as we had had a long day traveling and were catching the ferry early the next morning so thought this was an easy option. Steer clear of this restaurant.
Restaurant and Room facilities great. Choice for breakfast was excellent
Our Group was split over too levels getting to and from each others rooms was frustrating because of the security on each floor being different.
The view and lights
The cleaning service Gone from room at 8am, came back at 3 and room still the same as we left it. I came to Wellington for a break from home duties and would have liked to return to my room with it vaccumed, fresh towels and my room looking like I had just arrived, I had to chase the cleaner in the corridors to have fresh towels for a shower Thank you any way the view was to die for. And my breakfast was fantastic.
Balcony view was incredible at night would have been nice to have had some seating out there.
The noise from the air con was incredibly loud and would wake you when it came back on. Extremely disappointed with the cooking utensils provided after having to request them, why supply kitchenettes and not the proper utensils, didn't feel a fry pan a pot and a serving spoon quite cut it. Only one chair for a two person room????
Pleasant Room, Decor good
1) Rude abrupt male receptionist who seriously required to be taught how to greet Guests on arrival. 2) First room we checked in to had an overwhelming smell of either vomit or possibly a blocked drain. Immediately allocated to another room. 3) No tables available in Restaurant until after 9pm. 4) Quoted a delay of 2 hours for room service 5) Did not realize New Zealand beds are sized differently to Australia. I was of the belief that a king size bed was just that, but no! To meet my expectations the bed size is a Superior King Size Bed which is not available in this property. Having experienced the best sleep and bed comfort at Rydges Sydney International Airport, I was somewhat disappointed with the Rydges Wellington.
Good location, close to Harbour and restaurants. The Portland restaurant in the hotel is also excellence, nice meals at valuable prices, the breakfast included have many options at high quality. FO and F&B staff were nice and helpful. Facilities in the room was good as well. Overall, comfortable and nice stay.
