Ibis Christchurch  

The location was excellent, close to the most important sites in the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the stay more relaxing.

The room & bathroom was a little small.

The dining room was pleasant and the food good, staff helpful.

The room I booked was horrible, very cluttered with two big beds and no room to move. I moved to the top floor where the room was the same size but only one bed so room to move about. For this I had to pay extra.

I really do feel for the Christchurch situation. We are from Australia and we were shocked to see the CBD in such a state. I guess the road closures were the bit we did not like it was hard to get too but that is all really.

Close to Christchurch airport and in the middle of the city.

Did not like the very over priced menu at the restaurant. Decided to dine at the restaurant as there wasn't too many options for dinner in the city due to the mess caused by the 2011 earthquake. $35 for rib eye and mash, C'mon! Walked away paying $75 for dinner for 2 people and did not even enjoy a single bite. $75 was for 2 mains and 2 drinks. Definately left a sour taste in my mouth.

All was good, but felt sorry for Christchurch, whichis very affected by the earthquake

Clean functional room with comfortable bed. Convenient location for city centre and park. Hotel of course v new, but running efficiently.

Main part of restaurant was full, so we had to dine on balcony, enclosed by plastic screens. Was ok for our stay , but would not have liked to spend a long time out there.

Location. Its the only one currently open in the centre of Christchurch. Staff were a mixed bunch, some gave great service but were badly let down by check out staff who were happy to carry on a private conversation whilst checking me out.

Parking was a joke. $20 to park across the road at a Wilson car park/knocked down building site. More than you would pay in Auckland, and parking is really not an issue in Christchurch now with so many building sites to park on. Hint, don't opt for Ibis parking. Rate was high too, but I think this probably reflects accommodation space in Christchurch.

Too close to the red zone, bit I guess that will change in a few years once christchurch gets back on its feet

Location was excellent, particularly as we did not have our own transport

Staff didn't seem to know much about the area. Staff admitted that there were no safety instructions in the rooms re how to respond to an earthquake. Very limited leisure, bar restaurant and lounge facilities. No baths. Shower nozzle functioned poorly. Really expensive in comparison to other nz city hotels, and therefore poor value for money.

Location and no indication on website that currently in the middle of eq damge and difficult to find. Room window looked straight into a concrete wall - hotel parking underneath but no one advised me of this and paid to park in carpark opposite.On check out was nt asked if everything was ok with my stay and for $235.00 was most definately we ll overpriced.

Front reception staff were excellent

Having to fetch my meal from the restaurant to my room. It was average at best. Very uncomfortable bed. 2 singles pushed together but different heights. Bathroom floor was under water after shower and did not drain away. Rooms are over priced by 20%

The very efficient and friendly service from the reception staff, the cleanliness and comfort of our room, the excellent meal we had in the restaurant.

The sad state of Christchurch city centre, with the Ibis virtually marooned and isolated. Hopefully other buildings in the next few years will improve this situation and give the Ibis some neighbours.

1.The breakfast is not a good value 2.In-room internet service is not a good value. 3. "Free" wi-fi is very limiting 4. despite repeated staff assurances the previous evening that A taxi would be waiting for us at 5 A.M. the next morning, it was not, and we had to wait over 15 minutes for A taxi to the airport.

A bit expensive for a small room and an odd shower. It is on the edge of the earthquake devastation.

Our only disappointment was that, when checking in, we were told we were given a room with a view. This turned out to be the blank wall of the building right outside our window. As we didn't spend a lot of time in the room it didn't bother us a lot but others may not be so pleased.

I was on floor 8 and Loved the view from my room.
