The shared rooms are very nice, big, clean and no bunk beds. You feel like at home, it´s a small hostel with friendly owner. Everyone eats together, you can grab herbs and fruits from the garden!!! I was ill during my stay and Niki the owner realy looked after me!

Nikki and Bruce were excellent hosts, very welcoming. Jugglers Rest has a really nice atmosphere with the carnival equipment for use. The grounds are very pretty and well set up for relaxing. The building is also historic and beautiful yet much has been invested by the owners in making it comfortable (i.e. insulated and extensive vege garden, fruit trees).

Didn't really find anything not to like, except perhaps that it is close to the train line so you hear the trains go past occasionally.

This is a "home from home" there are so many extras not normally provided in budget accommodation-soap and shampoo in the shower, towels, jams, condiments, garden herbs and veg, even bed-socks! And Nikki is so caring and welcoming- she noticed my husbands infected bites and gave us some salve. Big sofas on the veranda, home made bread for breakfast, lovely music playing, a quiet, homely atmosphere.

We found it a bit of a hike from the ferry with our huge bags. But it's in a nice quiet street.

The bed was comfortable. People were friendly. The explanation of how the place worked was simple and timely. It was clean. Peaceful atmosphere. Felt safe. Sense of sharing and caring.

The night light beneath the door! Music was on quite late... but all minor considering the great place it was. It says clearly on the pamphlet free shuttle to the bluebridge ferry terminal... that was not the case so this needs to be corrected as we had to pay for a taxi.

My first hostel stay in NZ, and first anywhere in a long time. It was a very friendly atmosphere. Host Nicki was very helpful with finding local amenities. Homemade breakfast bread and jam was nice. Just the smell of the bread in the morning was a wonderful way to wake up.

    It was all good.
