Great place to stay, clean and comfortable. Nice kitchen with a terrace, close to the beach, restaurants and supermarkets. One thing you need to note that people from Kiwi Experience stay there - which can be a plus (for us it is a plus;-)) or a minus if you do not like bakcpackers' atmosphere.
Our room was above the kitchen, it was very hot and smelled of fried food. The window looked ta the garbage containers. The room was too small, did not have table or chair. Due to the noise and smell it was almost impossible to sleep. It was a backpackers lodge for double of the price. Look for another motel.
We booked online and didn't really know where we were booking. We were pleasantly surprised to find our private accommodations in a lodge atmosphere. The beautiful beach is right across the street!
It was a bit noisy with the young people celebrating Christmas, etc. Our room was right on the corner of a walkway and the street so we heard lots of conversation and celebration. No AC (common in NZ) so windows had to be open.
Accomodation directly in the Natioanl Park near the beach!
Very small rooms! Light from outside shines the hole night in the room. Noisy.
Great location just over the road from the golden sand beach at Kaiteriteri. Good en-suite bathroom and shower.
Having to go to a communal kitchen to prepare breakfast. I would have thought that a small kitchen would have been included in the room.
Location was perfect to access Abel Tasman park and the boat departures. Very quiet and lovely beach. Nice casual walks in the area to enjoy. Community kitchen was a bonus, although we didn't use it except to get hot water for tea.
Must pay for the internet and that was not normal for the other 10 motels we stayed in, and paid less per night. View from our room was limited by cars parked in the street.
Friendly helpfull staff
Sharing the kitchen with the kiwi experience bus they just took over and didn't clean up!
Handiness to all facilities, to eateries. FANTASTIC STAY!
Staff friendliness Daily attention to the room
Bed was a bit hard
We have only ever camped in Kaiteri in summer before so it was nice to be there out of season without all the crowds. I think we practically had the place to ourselves -the door was left open for us and our key was left at reception with a welcome note. The rooms were very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. The lodge is just across from the beach and boarding point for boat trips so is great if you don't have transport. Parking is right outside and there are bars and cafes right next door
It wasn't a problem at this quiet time of the year, but as the lodge is located between two bars and opposite the minigolf it would probably be pretty noisy in peak season.
I love the beach 2 min away and the park for kids is brill
two channels on tele
Great location, friendly staff, family friendly restaurant/bar next door, close to the breathtakingly beautiful Abel Tasman NP
Camp kitchen was a bit grotty and lacked good supply cooking equipment.
Kaiteriteri is stunning. Bed was comfortable, good shower pressure.
Our coffee cups were dirty, mould on bathroom door, (which didn't close), remote had food on it and didn't work.
great location, good parking, clean room.
Bathroom a little tired, tv is tiny, no glasses supplied in room and not enough milk for two days in complimentary tea making facilities. All very minor - some easily remedied.
Cold reception management
location was good
very focused on their backpacker market, arrived and our booking was entered for wrong month. Receptionist embarrassed, tried to sort out quickly. our room type wasn't available so went into $100 room type. Very small and not what we wanted to sit on bed and watch TV. Room tired and needs work in bathroom, paint peeling, bit smelly.
Location is right next door to the bar, restaurant and an amazing burger place.
For the price it was very small, had a small television with one channel and there was only a large kitchen facility in another room
The beer at the BAr run by the same owners was rather cheap.
They put us in a different room than what w booked. One of the staff came into our room without even knocking on the door and wanted to search for a remote controll.... absolutely unprofessional and a no go in that price range. You cannot drink you own wine and are forced to go to the bar next door. Oh, how convenient, its run by the same people. Now what a coincidence.... It was quite expensive fo the extremly low standard. the kitchen was equipped with a lkot of junk, like stives that would not work or broken toasters that nobody bothered to throw out. Kitchen was much to small for the number of people there. The Kiwi Experience stops here most days of the week, dropping of a load of 19-year old party kids.
Location was excellent, family room was a good size
We had no electricity in our room overnight
Dirty in the kitchen To many big groups - they left the kitchen in very bad shape The kitchen needed to be upgrade, stoves didn´t work.
Great helpful staff
Black mould in bathrooms. Lack of ventilation. Kitchen rubbish bins overflowing
The receptionist was excellent. She was very kind & helpful
The bathroom was dirty especially the shower. The walls need to be scrubbed and also the TV needs to be upgraded
Lovely food in the attached bar, very modern facilities
