Kauri Motel on Riccarton  

just needed a room for one night. It was perfectly located for us, going to a show at the CBS and having Riccarton Mall right opposite. West Coast Shuttle from Greymouth stops right out front.

Room very compact and bed very firm.

The room was clean and nice. Staff was accomodating.

Room was a bit small and right by the road.

The shower! Fantastic pressure - it's why I keep going back.

The host are very helpful and kindness.

Street noise from idiots shouting at night & early moring, but I don't hink the motel is responsibile for (or can do anything about) that!

Very friendly staff and the muffins waiting for us when we arrived was a lovely thought, and very tasty! Lovely, clean bathroom and a fantastic shower.

A wee bit of road noise, but that's to expected due to the location.

Location was good for all sorts; airport, shopping centre, restaurants. Morden looking room. Fantastic friendly staff.

Being located on a busy street, with a 24hr McDonalds, meant traffic could be heard late at night.

Room was quite small and dark. I wouldnt consider it 'luxury' accommodation. The queen bed was actually 2 single beds joined together.

Great proximity to Riccarton Mall and for those without a car, there is a regular bus service outside the door.

Unfortunately although the room was supposed to be soundproof, we could hear the traffic all night - the motel is on a very busy city street and our room was right on the street front so would ask NOT to be put in this room on the street front. Sunday night was quieter than Saturday night.

staff very friendly. Muffins in the room was a lovely touch. Advised to eat at a local place to save us thinking about it.

The the room and decor even though it was small it was nice, clean and all we needed, also location, staff, and free muffins in our room on arrival.

I didn't get the email telling us where to pick up the key cuz we were arriving late, but the lady was very kind when we woke her at 1am so we weren't too concerned with the mishap.

Helen and Denis are very friendly and helpful. It was such a nice stay. The rooms have a modern design.

Great hosts who could not have been more helpful. Very surprised (and pleased) that room was cleaned every day. Nice touches of muffins, proper coffee and milk included. Fabulous shower room (and power shower) and organic toiletries - it's the little things which make the difference.

A teensy complaint is that the room was a little on the small side but for one night, this was not really a problem and the plus points more than outweighed the modest footprint.

Helen was just excellent with her service. Excellent motel accomodation. Close to airport, city and across the road is Westfield shopping centre. State of art interior.

Close to mall. Agreed to host my 4yrs old daughter for an additional $20.

Charged for local calls within Christchurch. Apparently people from different cultures/countries do not know how to use Jacuzzi and how to sleep on a nz bed. Host must not judge customers by the colour of their skin or appearance. We have travelled the world and the worst comments we have had Please knock the door before entering a room :-(
