Kippilaw House  

Very friendly and inviting atmosphare, the owners are very nice and we received a great hospitality. The accommodation was great, generous space, free internet and a rich breakfast. The location is in walking distance to town and easy for tours into the Marlborough Sounds.

We spent 4 days at Kippilaw in Picton. We were pleased we had chosen picton rather than blenheim. It was very easy to arrange a wine tour to pick us up. We loved our suite which looked down over the harbour. Margaret and Bill couldnt have done more for us. It was easy to get into town through the short cut across the harbour. MAGIC!!

The road was a bit noisy during the day.

Delightful and utterly professional hosts. Superb and abundant food. Spacious and extremely comfortable accommodation. A stroll to Picton and the marina. All round unbeatable and a perfect stay we look forward to repeating very soon.

That our stay was only two days, would that it had been longer!

“Boutique accommodation” Reviewed 15 December 2012 NEW We had only one night here but wish it had been more! Margaret and Bill were superb hosts and welcomed us to their beautiful home with open arms. We stayed in the Picton View Suite, giving us a large double bedroom, huge shower room and a delightful sitting room. Everywhere was immaculate and met all our needs. Margaret prepared an amazing breakfast for us, unique and delicious - Tim reckons his best EVER! Nothing was too much trouble and Margaret drove us to the station for the next stage of our travels. If we are in the area again we would definitely go back - and hopefully for longer and include one of the amazing dinners that Margaret prepares - ask to see a sample menu!

Our stay was lovely, luxurious and we felt very welcome the moment we arrived. The welcome wine and drinks in our room plus the delicious cheese platter were a nice surprise. Breakfast was extensive with all made to order - nothing was too much trouble for Bill our host . The rooms were large and spacious and location was easy walk to restaurants in Picton. Off street carpaking was provided. Would love to stay again and meet Margaret. Thanks Bill for a lovely stay.

At Kippilaw House we were provided with a warm and friendly enviroment, a room that was much more a suite being spacious yet cosy with top class facilities. Breakfast was excellent and oh so plentiful with all things not only home made, but home grown! Margaret and Bill, our hosts, ensured a great stay.

The above answers really describe the positives of Kippilaw House. We were very satisfied all round with our stay and couldn't think of any improvements that could be made.

The Picton view room is fabulous with your own separate lounge area. And breakfast is also an experience not to be missed, lovely.

The accomodation was sensational. Beautiful room with great views, albeit it distant of the Marina.

Margaret and Bill were extremely helpful and hospitable hosts. They know their local area and have a great network of friends in the region to assist if required.They never intruded but were there to answer questions or engage in conversation whenever we wished. We stayed 5 nights and had a fantastic time.We had the upstairs area of their house. This comprises a spacious bedroom, huge bathroom,and separate living room with cable TV,library. The home is beautifully appointed. Breakfasts were truely sensational. Margaret is a gourmet cook who delighted in preparing meals fresh each day to exceed our expectations. We would highly recommend staying here.
