Really friendly and helpful host, incredibly comfortable facilities, great breakfast and stunning view of lake. Wish we had stayed longer.
We didn't have time to stay there longer
There are a lot of great details here if you spend some time to look around. hospitable.
We spent our first night in NZ at the Lodge. Excellent accommodation. Wonderful breakfast, outstanding travel advice, extensive library and art collection. Marvelous hosts!
The hosts, view, and location were the best in New Zealand!!
Great experience from the moment we got out of the car our host welcomed us and helped with luggage. We received fantastic restaurant and local sight direction as well as help planning the rest of the trip. We will recommend to others.
We stayed for two nights and everything was just perfect. Alastair was so nice to offer whatever we need. The breakfast was superb. The price seemed a bit higher than other lodge but it definitely worth it!!! Cleanness, decoration, location, hospitality, breakfast...... all so impressive!!!!
Nothing. I'll give 100 marks!
Only 3 rooms. Wonderfully quiet. The entire accommodation is more like a home than a lodge. Tastefully and artfully decorated. The breakfast, made to order, was superb. The host and hostess were more like friends than proprietors. Exceptional overnight stay. Sunrise and sunset just spectacular.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Stephanie and Alistar were very welcoming and always ready to help out. We felt very at home and had a relaxing stay
I couldn't recommend this place more! We (two young couples) spent one week traveling to some of the most beautiful towns of the south island and stayed in B&B for most nights of our trip and Lake Tekapo Lodge is no doubt the best! We considered ourselves the type of travelers that put comfort and quality before price when choosing accommodations and we definitely do not regret our decision to stay with Stephanie and Alistair even though the price appears to be on the higher end compared to most other B&Bs in New Zealand. Like Stephanie said, they charged a bit more than others so that the guests can experience the same quality life she and Alistair are living and frankly speaking I am willing to even pay more after my stay! I am also so glad that we chose to dine in to enjoy the dinner brilliantly prepared by Alistair and wonderfully presented/served by Stephanie for our first night in New Zealand and we also had a wonderful chat around the table for the whole night (what a wonderful memory!!!). I feel like an old friend of Stephanie and Alistair already and the four of us cannot wait to treat them to some of the best restaurants in town when they come visit China, in 2016 (probably:)).
If I have to name anything not so great about this place, it is that it makes our stay in other highly rated B&Bs shineless...
house/room with all you need , Owners are extremely friendly and always willing to help you. Will come back. top level lodge.
Everything, being so close to restaurants was a huge plus.Being able to fully relax there enjoying a glass of wine was wonderful! The Hosts are lovely, friendly and so welcoming.
We loved visiting Lake Tekapo lodge ; we found it welcoming, exceptionally friendly with a warm and cosy room overlooking the lake. There was also a guest lounge room stocked with Otago wines , chocolates and coffee/ tea and a wall full of great books to read . Stephanie and Alistair , our hosts made us very welcome and attended to our every need . Breakfast the next morning was delicious and abundant with a view to die for!! We will definitely return next time we visit the South Island
Loved the hosts. Loved the location. Breakfasts great. Local information hosts provided excellent. In house dining superb too.
Maybe next time might opt for a bigger room if staying 5 nights. Couldn't recommend it more highly
Absolutely amazing, Stephanie and Alastair (the owner) are so friendly and the hotel feels like home, cozy room, great view, guest lounge. And the breakfast is world class. The best hotel I stayed in NZ during the trip. I am definitely going to stay here next time.
Only stayed one night.
Amazing views and friendly staff made it a comfortable and enjoyable stay
Couldn't fault the place
The owner was the sweetest host I've ever had, the location is perfect, the room was cozy and welcoming, and breakfast was amazing - except for the weather (which I doubt was the lodge's fault), our stay in Tekapo was just perfect.
Stephanie and Alastair provided a home away from home, even if it was just one night. They went to so much effort to anticipate all our needs and all the facilities were extremely thoughtful, comfortable and high quality. Our one regret was not being able to stay longer and we will definitely return. We cannot recommend Lake Tekapo Lodge highly enough.
Friendliness if hosts Stephanie & Alastair who recommended local restaurants & places to visit. Every need was catered for. Breakfast cooked by Alastair was excellent. View from our room of Jake & Church of the Good Shepherd when we woke up was beautiful.
Stephanie was such a welcoming, gracious host. Nothing was too much trouble. Lots of little extras were included
This was a wonderful castle like home - Stephanie and Alistair were the most gracious hosts, a 5 star immaculate, art filled, interesting, spoiling experience. Beautiful views, wonderful breakfast, amenities beyond expectations !! Had interesting and warming conversations with the owners, who excel at having a B & B. Truly a rich experience not to be missed while staying in Lake Tekapo. Do not stay at the hotels that house the tour buses - you will be glad you stayed here ! Absolutely decadent !!
I wished we could have stayed longer :(
Superb hosts, supreme comfort, and delicious food and wine. Highly recommended.
Everything - location, landlady, room, facilities, best accommodation we had in our NZ trip and breakfast was top-notch
Probably one of the best choices in the area. Room was very cramped, but clean. The owners work very hard to make the best of the facility they have and are most eager to please and be of service, including providing you with a very good breakfast. Interesting collection of artwork.
Room size. Noise could be a problem if you are unlucky with other guests' behaviour
Everything was quality - decor, comfort. Stephanie & Alastair were excellent hosts and were very attentive and helpful. A good large lounge for guests with DVD's,CD's,books for their use and free tea, coffee ,soft drinks, lager, wine, chocolates all provided in the lounge. A wonderful place to stay.
Hospitality was great. Facilities were lovely, breakfast offered top class.
