Situated within the grounds of the impressive Larnach Castle, Larnach Lodge offers individually decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi and panoramic views of the harbour and the Otago Peninsula. Some rooms are located in the historic stables, while other rooms are located in the lodge itself. Accommodation includes entry to Larnach Castle, as well as the castle gardens. The extensive castle gardens have been rated ‘Garden of International Significance’ by the New Zealand Gardens Trust. Our group stayed at the Lodge at Larnach Castle and found the staff very thoughtful and helpful. The lodge rooms had wonderful views and the rooms were well appointed with lovely decor and comfortable beds. Would recommend the dinner at the castle as well. Thankyou to the great staff at the Stables for breakfast. Would come again. No complaints.

We stayed in one of the premier rooms at the Lodge. It was beautifully decorated and very large. The bathroom was well equipped with good toiletries and plenty of fluffy towels although more shelving would have been appreciated. We had dinner in the Castle, house-party style with very convivial company. Dress was very informal. Food was excellent. The grounds and gardens were a particular joy the following morning, with views out over the blue ocean. Nothing to dislike at all. Would have preferred if it had not been quite so expensive but it was lovely!

We stayed at 4 people's room at Stables building. Room is spacious. Breakfast is good. Free wi-fi in the room. Free entrance to the castle and garden which is worth $56. About 10 km away from the city and one the curved road of the mountain hill. No microwave in the room.

Fantastic breakfast, lovely grounds to walk around, Lanarch Castle was very interesting. Fabulous for a young family. If you are mainly visiting Dunedin, it is a bit far out. The room was a bit cramped, however, there was a common lounge provided.

we loved staying at the castle in the stables,it was very comfortable ,the staff were very friendly..and great value. Our 9 yr old son was also totally thrilled by it. a little bit of noise from other rooms

Staff were friendly. Dinner was good, breakfast excellent We stayed in the stables. It was musty. I know it is old - our house was built in 1828 and isn't musty. Needs a good coat of paint in an inspiring colour scheme.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner in the castle was an experience and the room had fantastic views of the peninsular. Also loved the garden and visiting the castle out of hours Thought the dinner was rather expensive and generally portions were too large

Dinner in the main lodge was excellent and good value for such a quality meal. The dining room was a unique experience Beware of sloping roof in stables bedroom -but be prepared to live with it as it is part of the unique ambience
