McLean Park Garden Motel  

Location was good....pretty decent rooms and the lady, Pat, on reception was super friendly...always smiling.

Tv was above the bed in my room and wasn`t easy to watch whilst laying down.

Nice welcome from nice, friendly hosts. Beds were really comfortable.

We had the last unit in the block with a very untidy, weed strewn garden outside. The rest of the place was lovely.

Close to beach-marine parade walkway and city centre. Very good hosts and staff eager to please

Being by the office at the front with no privacy. The pool was much smaller than it looked in the photos.

Easy to find - quiet - only 5mins to city centre by car - large lawn areas - separate bedroom from lounge and tv

Bathroom could be upgraded

The premises ,service etc. were for the price paid acceptable. Reasonably close to city centre , clean and comfortable. Very spacious gronds good for children to run around.

There was a back block of units which possiby had long term tenants and that area gave the complex a bit of a minus

Handy to all of Napier without the expense. Lovely garden environment.

The lighting was a bit dull in the living room area - and as we like to read at night and I like to do my embroidery, it was not bright enough.

I believed that the main bedroom had a queen bed but it was only a double, no opportunity unfortunately to change rooms when asking hotel staff. The bathroom did not have 240 volt to plug in for shaver or any other electrical item, just ridiculous. Shaving etc had to be done in the bedroom. When I asked about the breakfast option that was on our booking confirmation, the staff did not seem to know about this - we decided to eat out anyway. Although tidy and clean, the rooms were very old and dated. A revamp is in order.

The bathroom was very small

The kitchennette was well equipped, even had an oven. The location was good, right across the road from the aquarium. There were 15 minutes of free internet in the lobby.

The room was pretty cold except right in front of the small heater. Some neighbours were having a party the night we were there, but that isn't the motel's fault.

Easy access, open units, warm. Great staff. Everything one could want in a unit.

To improve the facilities, it would be niced to have some garden, flowers and privacy outside the doors where the chairs and tables are. THE HEAVY BLUE COVER ON THE BED WAS UNCOMFORTABLE. IT WOULD BE BETTER TO HAVE THE QUILTS COVERED IN INDIVIDUAL BEDDING COVERES (european style).

Our first impression was that the reception staff were pleasant and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. There's a nice kitchen which we did our cooking in. The surroundings were very green and there was a lot of nice lawn and planted gardens around. There are facilities for barbeque and a small swimming pool for use, although we did not have a chance to use these facilities.
