Hotel in good location, staff excellent. Room a bit dreary, bathroom lacked towel rail. A bathroom hook of some description would have helped, had to ask for a chair after first night when we brought in pretty shabby outdor chair so we could put a few things down. No slippers I don't like to walk around on bare feet. So a few things you could look into. An extra blanket would have helped as we did not want to use the black bedspread - not very comforting, so quite cold first night second night it was a bit warmer so OK. Frankly not good enough. NOT SURE WHERE TO WRITE THIS COMPLAINT - YOU CAN PUT IT IN RIGHT BOX FOR ME. THANKS

Most of all the staff. On a previous visit we had been upgraded - that was fantastic - but even without an upgrade this time, it was a great stay. The staff and the environment both contribute to the Hotel not feeling like part of a chain. It's a very hospitable, comfortable and interesting place.

Although this very comfortable hotel is situated in the centre of Wellington, it is surprisingly quiet. It is located very close to shops, restaurants, bars and places of interest.

I like Museum hotel very much. It's a luxury hotel and made me relaxable. Even the price more expensive than other hotel, but it's still valueable.

I must give credit to the staff. I was met and served by Amanda. She did very well, so did her colleagues whom I talked to. No fault of anyone but I couldn't eat at Hippopotamus because it was full on my first evening and closed completely on my second for a private party. The staff in the restaurant were however pleasant.

Lovely low chlorine lap pool. Interesting furnishings and artwork in the lobby. Bathroom layout with wide vertical fall shower. Continual soft 'hiss' sound of water trickling into toilet bowl overnight - room 503.

Simple good hotel, more creative rather than the bland gentrified modern hotels, but had all the modrrn features you want. The hotel apartments a re handy with kitchen and washer dryer. You need to be patient for small reception if checking in or checking out if busy, which is not that bad. Dont like the 2pm and 11am checkin checkout times in New Zealand.

The Museum Hotel is well located downtown, across from Te Papa Museum, Saturday Market and walkway along the Lambton Harbour. New World Supermarket is a block away as well as shopping and restaurants. About a 15-20 minute walk to the Wellington Cable Car. Short 5 minute drive for the Ferries to Picton/South Island. Free WiFi and pc Computer available in lobby. A lot of art throughout the hotel. Valet parking available at $20/day but very convenient. Have a very restaurant in the hotel but we didn't eat there. They have a fitness center with good cardio equipment and a pool/jacuzzi. Overall, would recommend this hotel. There was no free WiFi in the rooms. For the cost of these rooms, WiFi should be included. Valet parking, although a very good service and convenient, also used the parking lot across the street at the Te Papa parking lot. Parking within the Hotel site is much more secure. On one occassion, when I went to retrieve some articles from the vehicle, I learned my vehicle was parked across the street and found a couple youth peering through my vehicle window. I subsequently informed the hotel staff and later, my vehicle was moved back to the hotel site for the night.

An interesting hotel with a great deal of artistic ambience. The room was very large and comfortable. The Hippopotamus Restaurant is eclectic and stylish. The staff were very helpful. The room was advertised as a 'King Room with Harbour View' - very misleading to my mind. Our room was on level 1 and the view was almost entirely blocked out by several trees, so that, though on the harbour side, the harbour was barely discernible - not what I would call a 'harbour view' at all. The 'harbour view' rooms all seem to overlook Cable Street, which is a busy street especially in the rush hour. You would need a room on the fourth floor for a view and some quiet.

The museum is conveniently located on the waterfront, right across the street from Wellington's Te Papa Museum and a short walk to the restaurants and nightlife on Courteney Place and Cuba Street. The room was small and outdated. For the price tag, there are likely better options in Wellington.

I loved the furnishing and the luxury feel of the hotel. .Location was brilliant. Staff were helpful. I did have trouble with a noise in the aircon vent which went on all night long. Spoke to the lady at the desk and they had it fixed so the second night was quiet. Wasnt happy that my car had been moved from the hotel carpark over to the Tepapa car park (not secured parking) public car park . When I went out on Thursday evening I saw it parked there and when I came back a few hours later it was still there. I asked the man on the desk if it could why it was there? he said he would bring it back over which he did.

Very friendly & helpful staff at the Museum Hotel - found the location great for walking to the asb Arena where Ronan Keating was playing and the reason for our stay at the Museum Hotel. We had seen & heard of the Hotel before and alway wanted to stay and would probably stay again at the right price.

Service from every member of staff we encountered was excellent. Hippopotamus restaurant is outstanding. The room, while very nice, was insufficiently sound proof. I could hear every sound from the bathroom on the floor above. And all the footsteps and doors opening and closing of hotel staff coming and going down the hallway, all night, were audible. My hearing is not great and I've never had this amount of sound coming into the room in any another hotel before.

The view out to the harbour was fantastic. The large flat screen tv & current movies to hire was a bonus. The convenience to town was great. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked the night we stayed. Dirty teaspoon in the room.

Prompt reservations. Excellent staff. Very reasonable mini bar costs and good communications in room. Dark room. Was not told that the room allocated was not what I had booked until I visited the room and mentioned to check in that it differed from the internet photos. Given a two bedroom room until the Marina Suite was available which was next day. Thought the restaurant was over priced given the reviews I had read about other Wgton restaurants.

I loved the room. The dishwasher and the washer/dryer especially, also the deep bath. Every staff member I met was very helpful and polite. The cleanliness of the room was of a poor standard. The shower nozzle would not stay up.
