Parking should be either free or cheaper than $20 a day Check in earlier than 3pm would be preferred

I thought the hotel was good value but the restaurant was quite expensive. I would stay there again.

The design and layout of the hotel was fantastic, everything is excellent and the attention to detail is fantastic. The motorcycles on display added to the overall ambience of the hotel.

I liked the close proximity to the city and to the Museums and Art Galleries. Easy walking to everything Interesting Art and decor Spacious room

Arriving early in the morning and not being able to get into your room until 3pm. I realise that rooms have to be cleaned and made ready but 3pm is late.

Not an awful lot really. The reception area is quite impressive and that's about it.

Pity they didn't spend some of the money on the rooms rather than the reception area. They were tired. We ordered two lots of room service. The first was not impressive (croque monsieur...more like a toasted cheese and cheap ham sandwich) whilst the second was so poor that we sent it back. Neither were cheap.

From the time we arrived the staff unobtrusively cared for all our needs and were most helpful. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The location was within walking distance to all our weekend destinations and we will stay again sometime.

When we called from Auckland we were told check-in was at 3pm which inconveniently late but as it turned out we were able to check in at midday.

We initially booked this hotel because of it's location and price and what a pleasant surprise when we arrived! The more we discovered, the more we liked it. Apparently, the whole hotel was moved on wheels from one side of the road to the other and the owner has a collection of rare motorcycles which are all in the reception area, together with all sorts of unusual art objects. This place is really different and has nice little touches such as putting a note under your door to suggest what clothing might be needed for the current weather. The mini bar also includes items you might need such as mains adapters and condoms! The whole family could get in the 3 nozzle shower. I would definitely stay there again and it's a shame all hotels aren't like this one.

You will probably find that your car will have to be parked off site but they do this for you. You will also need to let them know when you need it back so that it can be put in the small hotel car park by the reception area. This worked well for us but you don't have instant access.

In this day and age, charging $12 for wireless is not done, makes the hotel seem seedy. at a good hotel everyone needs wireless.

I liked the design and fittings of the room; the decor in the lobby and dining/bar areas. The staff were courteous and friendly. As a single woman I felt safe and valued as a client. I really liked the close vicinity to Te Papa, restaurants, the harbour/waterfront, and shops.

Handy to Museum and pleasant outlook. Able to open door to terrace and let in 'fresh'air.

Shower (over bath) difiucult to get into and out again - no bar to hold for safety

Creative, interesting environment. Informal feel but with great service. Comfortable.

The seating arrangements in the upstairs bar area. The seating mostly accommodated large groups of people, leaving very few options for couples or small groups to sit and enjoy a drink.

Its really good to see a themed hotel done so well. Its easy to get it wrong and for it to be tacky. The Museum Hotel was a really interesting place to walk around, however the service was also there. Really comfortable and well appointed rooms.
