nice and friendly, relaxed, clean, high level backpacker

no wardrobe or hooks on the wall or a table and a chair where you could put clothes onto.

Came three weeks after my first visit and was almost identical - fantastic!

It was very clean and felt new and fresh, great bar attached to it, really good backpackers in a fab spot

One of the staff is not very good while I living there, and not happy to give me some advices for going around

Everything down from the price to the simplicity. Very nice accommodation in a very central part of the city - wonderful!

Unhelpful, unfriendly staff. Dirty carpet in room. It was clear that the room had not been vacuumed for some time. Poor internet connection.

- No parking places, so add 20-30 nzd to the price for the car. - broken lift - dirty kitchen

Great location, right near Cuba Mall where there are a lot of shops and restaurants, also close to the Te Papa museum. Really friendly staff who even posted some forgotten items - thanks!

Headphones for computers were all busted and can't use your own, however, staff said these were being replaced so hopefully will be working!

The building has a character. Friendly staff and well located in the city center near Civic Square. Free basic meal as well, which is a big plus.

The highest bunk beds ever. If you stay in the top bunk you will literally feel every movement the person in the botton bunk makes. No free wifi.

Cheap price for individual room plus en suite. Could have slept 3 so can see this would be very cheap for groups of friends. Good central location. Small meal provided

I liked the location and the friendly staff.

the noise at night from the bar, and the early morning backpackers leaving at 6am being very loud in the mornings with talking and slamming doors.

Well organised, ideal location! The voluntary cleaner girl was always there to make sure everything would be in order! She was/is a traveller and cleaning just to get free accommodation. You should pay her as she did her job perfectly!

As always in NZ, you need to pay for wifi and no breakfast.

170Nzd for 2 nights in a simple room! They told me I'm not allowed 2 drink in my room my own beer. Crazy!!!

Good location for museums, shops etc. Helpful staff.

Internet (wi-fi) wasn't available in the room despite assurances it should be. Poor wi-fi connections in the hostel entrance hall. Limited kitchenware - glasses, cups etc

Taxi was ordered,arrived promptly and reasonable charge to the train station. Had a good lamb burger at the pub.

Was a bit difficult to get to by city bus....no room for luggage.

Fab staff, very helpful, but clearly overworked at times, free meal was also lovely. Communal facilities were great

Precariously high, unsturdy bunkbeds! And charging to leave bags in a 2metre high, full to the brim bag room

We had an ensuite room, which was a bit too basic for the price. There was no soap in the shower and the wash basin drain was blocked, we asked twice to have it fixed to no avail. The room was next to the main stairway door and it would bang every time someone went through which was annoying.

Good location, perfect accommodation for the sevens. Friendly staff, facilities were better than expected.

Bit noisy being right next to the road, but it was sevens weekend and to be expected.

Parking: Possible at the front door. Price: Very affordable for closeby centre of a big city

There is a constant noise coming from the wall, probably water pipes. You can hear them all night long. At least on 3rd floor. I had to sleep with ear plugs because of this.

Central location, good facilities, comfy rooms.

Parking expensive (obviously in town centre).
