Paihia Beach Resort & Spa Hotel  

First impressions, Adriana was very warm and welcoming and made us feel at home and relaxed. She was very helpful and knowledgeable with what was on service. House keeping was excellent and breakfast was superb. We will be coming back, thank you very much,

The modern comfort of the room,excellent sea views,for both my wife and myself who dont get to escape from the kids or maybe cant afford to,I would definitly recommend the experience,it would be worth while spending that little bit more

Only one washing machine and dryer was working,probably needs a bbq near the pool area..

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent. We would rate is 3.5 stars at best.

The nzd325 rate per night was not good value. Maybe nzd200 would be about right. Perhaps it's a bit run-down. For example a door latch to the front sliding doors fell off and I screwed it back on. The entrance to the resort was an unsealed carpark. The restaurant was in a beautiful setting but the a la carte menus was very limited. The food was good though. The need to continually log on to the wifi was annoying and it seemed to allow only one device at a time. E.G. iPhone or iPad, not both. Most other hotels allow more than one device at a time. In any case, the connection was a bit weak. The choice of tv channels seemed very limited. The Breakwater resort around the headland was affering 50+ channnels.

Location was ideal

When we booked we were told that the restaruant would be open in the evening. We were dissapointed to find that this was not the case.

Overpriced for the offering. More a highly specced motel than a resort.

Great Location and facilities where open

Pity the restaurant was closed, and that the rates did not reflect the reduced facilities avialable in the Winter. Expensive for the time of year.

The location, launching point to other far north attractions, comfort, and relaxation options. The upper level studio rooms are moderrn spacious and comfortable with great views out over the bay, the resturant serves some of the best food we have experienced in a good while.The spa facilities are great!. Basically a cool place to stay for a relaxing break away.

Nothing, apart from the silly location of the broadband connection point.

The standard of the room and design of the hotel capatilising on the view. Also the staff in the restaurant and beautiful food. Attention to detail was outstanding.

We loved the location which was very close to the centre of Paihia & in a quiet spot (best of both worlds). Great views- from every apartment! The staff were all friendly & helpful. The apartment itself was beautiful, classy & comfortable. I was impressed that our room was attended to & cleaned each day without us being intruded upon, they had a knack of knowing when we were out of the room & cleaning/tidying in a unobtrusive manner. I was impressed with the cleanliness of our room. The restaurant had beautiful views with good food, wine & friendly staff. Overall a luxurious, relaxing spot. I drank in the views everyday from our balcony. We would definitely stay here again & have already recommended it to our friends.

Not all the spa's around the pool outside were heated as advertised. I put it down to being the end of the season & there being less people wanting to use a spa. Also I noted that only one of these 'spa's had jets? The staff in the restaurant were lovely & efficient, it was a little annoying that they made it clear we must make a booking when the restaurant was clearly not full every night due to the season, we made sure we planned ahead- it just left no room for spontaneity - we put it down to a staffing practicality.

The location and ambience are magical making it a luxurious and relaxing holiday spot.

The pool was very cold and only some of the very small pools were actually heated. The advertisement made us belief otherwise. We were unlucky in that we had a family with two young boys staying above us which resulted in a significant amount of noise well before the time we would have wished to wake up.

Excellente location Good food

During 4 days thes sheets were not changed. Too espensive, no fitness. No champagne for the new years eve ( it was on the winelist). The same menu everyday........:(

The room and location of the hotel was fantastic, it exceeded my expectations. The spa that is located onsite was heavenly and I highly recommend it. The pool was cold and I think it is listed as heated and the 6 spa's around the pool only one of them has the jets which was a bit annoying but the spa's were all hot so it was still nice. O

I didn't like the restaurants menu, it would be ideal for people that like fish but I found there were not that many options for non fish eaters. I found it quite awkward to order room service - a lot of the time I felt the staff were not overly accommodating when I rang up (kind of like I was asking too much)
