Welcoming and helpful staff. Cleanliness As a "budget-type" establishment- excellent! A little too far away from grocery-shopping facilities. It may be good to let your customers know that they really need wheels to get shopping done easily.

The friendship of the owners, the cookies, the way it looks ! It is clean, tidy and knew, they had good towels and sheets, everything worked fine. Familiar looking. We would recommend. The walls are not very good for insulating noises, therefore we could hear people stepping on the floor on top of us and people coming "happy" from the night. It is not in the center so it demands a car or taxi. The rooms are not very big but served us well as a couple. Overall we liked it and we recommend it, as long as the person coming don't take the above as its primary decision.

The staff who were all welcoming, friendly, helpful; the fresh herbs in the kitchen and garden flowers in the hallways; crisp, clean white linen. I loved the ecclectic mix of retro items and the books and magazines freely on offer.... And, the lodge was quiet! I had to use the iron in the laundry room and felt this could do with being upgraded. It didn't seem to work well (another guest had the same problem).

Parkside Lodge was immaculately clean and tidy. The management staff went out of their way to provide an extra level of service with complimentary 'real' coffee in the kitchen and even some home made cookies. Given that it was probably a retirement home in a previous life anyone with elderly or wheelchair needs would find this facility very suitable. Probably the biggest draw back would be location. Being in a residential area, there is no local access to amenities such as restaurants, entertainment etc.

Location in relation to where we needed and wanted to be. Fact it appeared to be a former rest home, later found out it was a former private hospital.

I loved all the little things that you had done ie entrance, flowers, music playing, cleaniness of my bathroom, the guy on the front desk was super friendly, I really liked the place. The only thing that let our stay down was the comfort of our bed, we both woke up several times during the night and had a sore back when we got out of bed in the morning, we would stay again but we won't simply because of the bed. We were in Room 7.

Comfy bed. Nice and fresh/clean. Able to use the well stocked kitchen. Loved the freshly dried verbena leaves provided for cup of tea & the home made cookies. Small deck from room with table & chairs. No comfy chair to sit on - I dont like sitting on bed covers. Reminded of being a patient in a private hospital. Neighbours room noise, esp voices.

The laundry facilities were handy and were cheap to use. The owners also provided free baked goods in the communal kitchen and herbs from the garden for use if cooking meals, all handy for families. It was quirky and the idea is excellent and I would recommend it to families with young children. This was a converted private hospital which is not an issue but because of this the rooms had no added extra places to put anything, there was no small table for you to even place a magazine! There was a chair but this got used for one of our cases just to get it off the floor so we only had one to trip over. There was a kettle and tea and coffee provided which was kept in the bedside cupboard and the only place to plug it in was the bathroom sink however to be fair you could get a cuppa in the communal kitchen where facilities were above average. Also this accommodation was great for young families however when we stayed the family next door had a baby which screamed and the walls were so thin that it was like the child was in our room.
