Very neat, tidy and organised. Great location - only a few minutes from centre of town, and quiet area. Loved the decor - minimal but unique. Also the old- fashioned music being played on old LP record players in the passages created a lovely atmosphere
Not the fault of Park view, but 2 loud noisy guests came in after 12and spoke and laughed at the top of their voices, waking everyone. I got up after 1am and reprimanded them.A little table/shelf near the plug for the jug and a bedside table on the other side of the bed too would have been nice.
Stayed her after extending our Napier stay for a day. Lovely staff and excellent value for money given the quality and price of other motels in the area. Well set up motel with kitchen facilities and dining area.
The walls are thin and we could hear the guests above us having an argument at one stage.
Fresh flowers in the room and extreme cleanliness. Good rooms and reasonable prices. Great coffee machine and kitchen.
The location was good, well located to food shops and petrol but only if you have a car.
Communal kitchen Communal laundry (iron) I was itchy in bed all night Very dated appearance Paper thin walls - I could hear the conversation next door in detail. You can buy food for breakfast but you have to cook it yourself in the communal kitchen.
When we arrived, there was a record playing Anne Murray. Did they do that just for us Canadians? The couple who own the Parkside are very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and airy. The place has a very retro feel, and there were so many "made by hand" touches. The shared kitchen was very well equipped, and the owners shared their garden produce with us, including fresh herbs. It was the nicest kitchen we saw in our travels.
Loved it, and loved Napier!
Loved the little extras eg. cookies, herbs & lemons in the communal kitchen for use. Plenty of room. Loved the fun decor and finishes, like the record player in the corridor. Would definitely stay again
It was all good!
wonderful welcome on arrival and superb service when needed information on things to do in the area....friendly staff and a real lovely, homely place to stay at
was clean and tidy
no sky, bed was hard and no extra blankets as it was cold, heat pump didn't seem to be pumping out any heat.
Location suited our requirements. Staff very friendly. Shared kitchen gives up-market backpacker feel.
Lovely town would have like to have been able to stay longer
The staff were super friendly and helpful. I love the way the place is decorated, making it feel fun, and welcoming. Our room was really clean and comfortable.
Great stay :)
The kitchen was very good and the homemade biscuits even better
Our sleep was poor as the couple above were very noisy and banging about. If you book ask for an upstairs room.
would stay there again great value
Great location for our purposes and held all the basics including a kitchen for common use. Good hot shower and even home made cookies. Very welcoming and obliging service
Set up of kitchen with afternoon tea provided.
No cover over outside seating area. Insufficient main entry car parking. Thin walls with noise of occupiers from both upstairs and next door disturbing sleep.
Loved this one. Value for money and a little different. We travelled as a twin bedding option so the room was snug, but the place was spotless, friendly and comfy. Located within walking distance of a large supermarket. The differences were its original life as a private hospital, its rec / lounge room and the spotless communal kitchen along with the very reasonably priced cook your own breakfast. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful
Not a thing....I would stay there again
Cleanliness Friendly helpful reception Tranquility
cleanliness price friendliness
Accommodating staff who put me in a room so I could see the car as I had a pet. Great room rate for a last minute deal. Clean tidy, warm. Quiet street.
Rooms are furnished well, coming with the expected TV, Wifi, adequate bathroom facility and comfy beds. The lobby area and upstairs are both quiet, decorated with some antique furnishing and what seemed like freshly painted walls. On the ground floor there is nice kitchen space that is fully stocked with modern cooking ware. Alas, they put out some free snacks for guests and allow you to make use of fresh herbs found in the kitchen, a nice touch for those who enjoy cooking their own meals.
The location for Parkside is back out on Kennedy Road near Anderson Park, making this a less convenient choice for those preferring to be closer to the CBD for sightseeing and dining and less practical for those with transportation needs. Lastly, there is limited parking space as well, which could potentially be a problem if this hotel is ever full.
Very clean. Helpfull, friendly staff. Lovely touches with magazines and records around the place.
Access to a well stocked kitchen, with the nice touch of some home cooking
Great kitchen. loved the turntable playing the classics
