its location and its appearance When we used the restaurant the wine waiter brought our drinks. However my $9 glass of wine was filled only half way to the measuring line on the glass - about 3 spoonfuls . The others in our party had beers etc. We never saw him again. He did not check if we needed more drinks. If he had returned I would have given him an earful.

Close to the city and airport. The spa was just a bathtub with some jets for air bubbles and it only seats one. Limited parking space.

Excellent service, nice room, good food....only thing is that there wasn't any chairs out the front of the room and limited ashtrays...the reality is that there is still a lot of smokers and they still need to be cartered for. all else great.

Great location. The design of the rooms was somewhat unusual. Good to have cooking facilities, but as a family of 4, we fealt it was a little tight. The stained glass window in the bedroom did not work from the practical point of view as the light woke us up in the morning. Overall however it was more than adequate for an overnight stop. I would not recommend it for a longer stay

It was reasonably located. Pavilions Hotel is not actually a hotel but rather a motel. The hotel is quite old and showing its age with fairly basic accommodation. It is on a busy highway and therefore quite noisy as well as being noisy internally, with concrete steps and pathways that are quite loud whenever anyone goes past. As the doors to the rooms are glass, the only way to get any privacy is to shut pull the blinds over them and, when combined with having to do the same because of the busy street and footpath next to our room, made for a very unpleasant experience. To have to pay what I consider to be a reasonably high price for this privilege just capped it off.

The location was good. The room service was very average and the selection in the mini bar was poor but incredibly expensive with a 300 ml bottle of very average wine costing $19.00.

Location. Our studio room was more of a "budget room" for the price. We were told that all costs have risen in the city area because of the earthquake, and in fact, there didn't seem to be any vacancies in other hotels, lucky we pre-booked. The restaurant in the hotel seemed a bit average and I suspect that the meals are not made from scratch and had that "lean cuisine" type flavour.

It was the worst hotel I had encountered during my 8-day trip in New Zealand. It was certainly not value for money. The facilities were old and not friendly to use.

I liked the fact you had your own facilites and were away from everyone else if you chose to. Rooms were comfortable and had all of the amenities should you want to cook yourself.

The reason we stayed at this Hotel ; needed a place to stay for 5 adults for 1 night, close to the airport. Location wise and the second bedroom was a good solution for us. Bedrooms are very small, de whole appartment is very dark, not only the interior but also lightning is very poor. You can't read a book in the living or dining area accept in the kitchen. Lock on the door with gap and safety chain doesn't give you a save feeling. Staying on the ground floor you have to bear with the noise from the staircase and your neighbours above your head. Overall for 1 night not bad value for money.
