We arrived at 10am and the room was not ready till 2pm. We came back and the room was still not ready till 4ish. Was a long wait when the town is actually small and we had a long day travelling . Got bites after resting in sofa of the suite.
Complimentary upgrade for our honeymoon. The hotel tried to make up for the long wait for check in with a bottle of wine
1. When booking, the description said "Lake View" - well we thought it's lake tekapo view - however, it has a view of a small pool in the hotel area. 2. Paid Wifi: we only used 1 hour of the wifi but they charged us the price for a full day
1. Good location - well, lake tekapo is a small place so the location can't be too bad 2. Nice commnuity 3. Nice room
Note we got a really cheap last minute deal, this ended up being a room that was very small & faced the parking lot so we couldn't raise our blind. This was fine for us as we only stayed one night & didn't spend any time in our room. The other rooms we saw with views looked truly amazing.
Very nice design, excellent location, walking distance of the spas & just across the road from the restaurants & pub.
We think it was an air conditioning unit that started up loudly very early in the morning, we couldn't continue to sleep which was very frustrating as we had been to a wedding. The shower head was difficult to control and it flooded the bathroom very easily. The room was very small and there was nowhere to hang our good clothes
Booked through booking.com however when we arrived Peppers had no booking for us, it was sorted but we had to wait for our room to be made up, after driving 4 hrs with 3 children not the best result. Didn't look like room had been vacumed either. OK but for the money we paid could have been better.
The best part of stay was the wonderful dinner and stand
Very small room
We stayed in a lovely room. Described as a small room for the traveler only needing 1 night stop over. Although it was small it was lovely and cosy.
Comfy bed, Nice bathroom. quiet. Clean. super close to shops.
We got a good discount but it would have been quite pricey otherwise.
Location was just a stone's throw away from the main strip and it was well laid out.
Amazing view over the lake. get a lake front studio.
So - first, the "standard" twin hotel room is tiny, in a block of 3 - 2 on the ground floor share a venting unit which runs through the back bedroom unit and makes a horrendous noise when the extractor fan from their bedroom is switched on ..... and left on. Movement by the occupants in the room above produced horrendous creaking noises from the floor plates. Then the hotel tries every possible way to "generate" more income/costs. Wifi is extortionate and the breakfast at $21 or $25 depending upon who you ask is also not good value - better to go to the Chinese-run café in town for a proper breakfast at under $12. Check out after 10am is considered late - but it is OK they will only charge you $20 an hour extra if you want a later checkout! Finally - at peak check out time they have one receptionist on duty! It would be a joke but not at $160 a night!! Try anywhere else
The location is convenient for Tekapo
Didn't like the look of the restaurant and entrance for the hotel. Staff were unsure of what to do I guess because they change hands quite a lot because of the location.
Loved the size of the apartment and views
Bed uncomfortable Booking requirements not met at time of checking despite having booked three months prior
Restaurant was excellent - food very good
The room was tiny, the bed was a good size but took up the whole room. Would have been OK with a single bed in it, at least we would have had room for our suit cases! Daughter stayed in another double room, same size and the three of us could hardly stand in the same room.
Brilliant location close with a short walk to the town centre.
Very comfortable, friendly staff & ideal for overnight stay in a beautiful location.
Paid quite a bit for the room, but was not what I expected for the price. The rooms were dusty, and the kitchen floors were sticky. A lot of kitchen utilities were missing, not really making it easy if you want to coof dinner. No free Wifi.
The reception can let you borrow board games.
Wifi is really expensive compare to other hotels.
Very nice resort with wonderful location. The lake view villa is well facilitated, convenient and comfortable.
Room wasn't big enough to swing a kitten, let alone a cat. Literally tripping over our cases to climb to the bathroom. Walls v thin could here conversations in the room next to ours. Heating / air-con system ridiculously loud, people next door to us had theirs on all night, even earplugs couldn't block out the noise. Had high expectations for the restaurant, but was v disappointed in the quality of food, only upside to the meal was the wine and the view
The view and scenery are gorgeous
Decor very tired. Walls were marked and dirty. Paint peeling from kitchen /living room ceiling. Overwhelming stench of cigarettes right throughout unit. Bed linen did not feel fresh. We were expecting a higher lever of accommodation for a Peppers hotel and were very disappointed.
Location convenient to hot pools and town. Reception staff polite.
Very bad internet access.
We were very happy with our duplex room, it had a wonderful view over the lake and excellent facilities. It was on the far side of the main road but there were paths to deliver you safely to the lakeside. Good breakfast.
Nothing really to report. Only stayed one night. Didn't use the facilities but the kitchen was good for breakfast.
Truly, it's an area of form not service. Had we not already pre-booked, we would've kept driving just a little bit more to where the true heart & spectacular views truly were at in Lake Pukaki and the sweet town of Twitzel. People are of service and it's not nearly as expensive.
Leaving that overpriced, snobby area (as in the restaurants too)
Wifi is $20 per day?! Rooms were grubby and not made up til 6pm each day. Only 2 towels per room. Staff were rude and useless.
Location and Pillows
this is the lest favourite hotel in our trip. Room was extremely small, aircon was't working. Not worth the money compare to other ones we booked.
it's clean. Shampoo and shower gel were nice.
