Peace, privacy, friendly staff, excellent accomodation
surcharge for paying by credit card, haven' seen this for last 10 years!
The heating in the room, the spa bath, the breakfast buffet, the friendly staff... everything!
The pool being closed in the Winter months
Quiet country setting in the heart of wine country. The individual units provide a real sense of solitude and the views to the west towards the Tararua Ranges are wonderful.
Staff really look after you there, so welcoming and friendly.
Absolutely beautiful cottage, no expense was spared in making it a complete luxury stay. Everything down to the fully equipped kitchen, spa tub, fire, bed linen and furniture- it was all perfect.
There was nothing I didn't like
Excellent room facilities. Effectively a fully furnished one bedroom apartment. Wood deck with hot tub. Fully stocked mini -bar. Full breakfast in bed room service. Staff indulgent with requests.
Nothing to fault really.
Beautiful interior designed rooms
Zipped together king size beds are very uncomfortable for couples
Great location and amazing room. Felt so cozy sitting by the open gas fire. Tennis court and pool looked great - will have to come back when the weather is better to use them. Lovely friendly staff.
Noisy neighbours at 1am - getting in and out of their car. Not the fault of Peppers of course.
I love this property and have stayed here numerous times over the past years - however never in the Winemakers Cottages.
I felt that although these were still lovely appearance wise, they lacked the comfort of the other cottages. i.e. no underfloor heating in the bathroom, no robes and no slippers - altogether a cold miserable night. The bed was 2 x king singles pushed together with a huge lump in the middle and 2 x single electric blankets - so much for a romantic night!
It was amazing. We will certainly come back. The breakfast was cafe-worthy, yum yum! Very spacious - whirlpool and fire place the real highlights!
Elegant and peaceful Very Clean
Wifi Patchy but usable
the warmth in the cottages was fantastic and everything thought of. great kitchen and bathroom.
lack of signage round the place, very dark at night trying to find cottage and not much room to manoevre cars. wi-fi most inaccessible so wouldn't use it for work trip, biggest drawback we found and would stay somewhere else just to get good wi fi.
The accommodation is fantastic, lovely views and so luxurious! Breakfast was brilliant, especially on the Monday when it was a la carte - lovely waffles! It was quiet and a great getaway after a hectic time, which is why we came here even though we only live in Featherston (15mins up the road) and we came back fully recharged. We'll be back!
Wifi was unstable.
Clean and spacious
The living rooms were nicely appointed and very quiet.
The wet area bathroom was very slippery and the sloping floor dangerous. We had t use the bathmat under the shower to avoid slipping over. The water also tracked up the grout lines to the other end of the bathroom!. The shower also didn't drain very well meaning you stood in a puddle. The handbasin looked budget and was really little. There was no where to put toiletries except the end of the bath.
The structure and comfort of the cottage. And the food was outstanding.
Having to leave
Unfortunately the bed had roll together.. and wasnt that comfortable.
Privacy and surroundings
Wi-fi should be free and easier to access. Also not advised that restaurant wasn't open on a Wednesday - info in room said open daily...
The bath is amazing!
Staff were rude and unfriendly at both reception and the restaurant which made us feel unwelcome.
The TV should be bigger
We loved how comforting everything and everyone one were. It really made our weekend away super special =)
only thing we didnt like was that it would have been cool if there was 2 little bottles of wine in the mini bar, just cause we didnt feel like drinking a whole bottle but that is a very little thing =)
Staff were very friendly and very good though one member didnt even know how to pour a bourbon (ice first love!)....which highlighted an obvious lack of training. Not her fault!
Water pressure in showers.. one minute average pressure next minute..could pee with better pressure!
Privacy of the room in a secluded location, would like to see what it is like in summer. Well laid out room, excellent heating options. Breakfast... yum.
Not enough towels in Bathroom (only had 2). Bathroom was very wet from shower, with water pooling around toilet and vanity. Restaurant overpriced for the quality of the food.
Not finding the coffee plunger.
