There is no lift so it was challenging having to lug heavy lugguages up the stairs.
Queenstown and surrounding places
The views, the comfortable bed, the beautiful apartment, the staff.
Road noise when door to balcony open.
Clean and modern Lovely bathroom
Studio room very small and kitchen limited
It was clean and modern.
I think it was overpriced..the beds were small and too soft and the apartment set up wasn't good. There was also no elevators so you had to lift your own luggage up and down stairs..the staff never offered to help. I wouldn't stay there again. I had booked for 4 people then amended it for just 2 people. We still had to pay the same amount and had to share a bedroom even though there was another bedroom available. They had locked it up.
The apartment was cosy and modern and had good facilities (including a free washing machine). Reception staff were very helpful. It is about a 10 minute walk into Queenstown but is on the water almost.
general appointment nice view comfortable
bed too soft! road noise too many rules (e.g. removal of shoes)
The staff were friendly & only to happy to assist with any inquiry we had.
Everything especially the view from the sitting room
Very knowledgeable staff assisted us by booking zip lining and luge /gondola activities for the day after we arrived. Very friendly and welcoming place with magnificent views just a short walk into town. Highly recommend- would definitely stay here again.
Nothing- it was all good
We stayed in a studio room without views in building 3. The room looked fresh and contemporary with a simple grey and white theme with dark wood furniture. The walk from the apartments to the harbour takes about 45 mins along the lakeside via the peninsula (it's shorter if you cut across next to the ice rink). Pros Nice bathroom with heated wall mirror and magnifying mirror. Good shower over short bath finished in non-slip tiles. Surprisingly good range of crockery and utensils since there is only a microwave, toaster and kettle in the metre-wide kitchenette. Robes and slippers. Shared free laundry facilities include drying rack and ironing board as well as top loader washer and tumble dryer. Laundry liquid supplied. Up to 4 devices on Wi-Fi unlimited use. Reception staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. They can book tours and outings. Reverse cycle air-conditioning.
Cons Kitchenette cupboard very high, I needed to stand on a chair to get to the crockery stored there (I am 150cm).
The well furnished and clean rooms always left us eager to return back despite the exciting adventures in Queenstown! Our need to have a wheelchair accessible room and firm beds were responded to efficiently. The proximity and safety of the complimentary allocated carpark lot to our unit enabled easy access and a peace of mind. We whipped up 2 meals in the fully equipped kitchen, with groceries from the supermarket nearby. We will stay here again on the next trip back!
Ro was great at explaining the different tours and making bookings for us.
As it is an apartment nobody comes to replenish the soap or shampoo like would happen in a hotel.
Very spacious and comfortable apartment. Amazing view over Lake Wakatipu. Within 10 minutes walk of town. Double glazes windows cut down the road noise.
Right on the main road heading into town so it is a bit noisy with traffic.
The service from staff was excellent and friendly. It was also genuine.
The exposure of the apartment to the road resulted in a feeling of lack of privacy. Darkened or privacy windows of sorts could fix this problem. The road noise also contributed to some discomfort. Didn't like the fact that I needed to take my shoes off to walk around the apartment. This was a slippery experience and walking around in bare feet to stop slipping around required heating the apartment.
The amazing view out the front window
Very comfortable and clean apartment with good facilities.
On the opposite side of the road to the lake so views interrupted by a busy road. Lower apartments look straight out at the road. The 'luxury bathrobes' were small and like stiff towels.
Everything was ok...
Apart from the big black hairs all through the bathroom...
Hotel Staff gave us recommendations for restaurants when we arrived.
The shared laundry with the 2-bedroom apartment next door was not ideal. The dryer woke us both up early on Sunday morning.
Excellent design features - very comfortable for a longer stay.
- checked in late and the staff specially came back to check in for us - gave us an extra night to put our things till we came back
Bad sound proofing. Studio was very noisy
The staff at Ponaumu were so helpful with every part of our stay. They offered great advice on activities in and around Queenstown. The bedding was super comfortable wth heating and fireplace in the room making for a cosy stay. An absolute pleasure to stay here.
Having to leave ;)
Everything was very good.
Comfortable room to retire after long days of exploring
Not too far from town but a little bit of walk. On our last night there was people in the front room and the spa made a lot of noise at 10 pm at night.
