Our rooms were spacious for 4 senior adults. Quiet. The reception by the owners was very friendly and informative. The hot mineral pools were lovely and spotless.
Looks old, but is so comfortable. The best beds we slept in in New Zealand. Has everything you need. The owners are super friendly and helpful. And the hot pools are wonderful. Loved it there and would have happily stayed longer.
private hot pools available
proximity to highway meant traffic speeding past at night, basic amenities
Good half way stop travelling from Wellington to Auckland. Great hot pools to relax in.
Friendly and helpful staff, loved the Mineral pools. Unique cooking experience close by (Poia) - steam earth oven
Pillow case has the stain
Clean. Friendly owners. Quiet place.
Super comfortable bed.friendly owners.Hot mineral spring water baths. Large rooms.Quiet area.Mid way between Taupo and the snow. Not the newest motel but affordable and comfortable.
Weak shower pressure.
Private hot pools Friendly hosts Interesting area
The location of the property. The friendliness and helpfulness of management and staff. The hot pools. The excellent beds. Personal contact and help.
The lack of insulation. The poor showers. Not good value for money. The bathroom facilities.
Greated by lovely owners, very friendly and showed us everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and very well presented and the outdoor spa was great.
No shampoo or soap for the shower? A hand poored jar (tiny) of milk rather than a sealed bottle. Gross.
This was a fantastic place to stay regardless whether travelling as a family or a couple. The hot pools were brillant, the beds comfy, the unit warm and the hosts so friendly.
Warm beds, customer service, the private thermal pools
Very good quality natural hot spring.
The hot spring pool, need some improvements, on a windy day, the cold wind can blow in and give you a headache. Maybe is ok if it is not too windy.
Everything else. The poorest motel I have experienced in my 75+ years. They seem to think that some dirty looking and dingy hot pools would cover all the negatives. Everything seemed to be in a state of near collapse. No capital appears to have been spent for decades!
Great play to stay with the hot pools.
The heater wasn't the best, with not feeling overly safe with kids.
Rememires of our childhood, great hot pools and comfortable bed. What more could you want. We will be back!
Very friendly helpful owners. Lovely hot pools. Good drying room. Handy location.
hot pools and lovely beds and linen
We had a great time, the motel is an hour drive to ski field which is really convinient. Hot pool was fantastic!
Fabulous private hotpools (could do with a lick of paint). Very clean sheets and towels.
Big NO-NO: Bob (one of the owners) coming into our room without knocking! Not sure what he wanted, but we felt he was just going to perve. Everything is worn and run down - we didn't mind this, but it should be reflected in the price.
the hot pool
The quiet location, spacious unit, easy access, thermal pools on site, helpful staff. And good value for money.
We had no complaints!
Comfy beds, hot water radiators, simple practical. We came for the mineral pool.
A bit pricey, and needs a carpet / rug on cold wooden floor.
Loved the friendliness of the owners and the mineral hot pools open 24 hours.
