Rydges Lakeland Resort Queenstown

The location is great, close enough to the downtown area to be convenient. The views from our room were wonderful.

We were expecting a much 'nicer' hotel, and were surprised at the backpacker-type- feel of the place. The hallways were loud, people were running through the hotel and clanking bottles and yelling at all hours of the morning. There were holes in the walls in our room, that could be explained by the 'party like atmosphere' of the hotel. I recommend that the savvy traveler look around for a better deal before booking the Rydges Lakeland Resort in Queenstown. There are much better hotels for the money.

The views are incredible. It is comfortable and a good room for the money.

It is a slight walk from the town center, but it is along Lake Wakitipu so it was not a big deal. The cleaning staff was annoying in the fact that they knock once and walk in. We were still in bed and it was very awkward. For the rest of the stay we always had to make sure that the do not disturb sign was up if we were in the room. Also, if we had one dry towel and left the other two to be cleaned and new ones brought in, we came back to only one towel. Finally, as it is a tourist town, they charge you for everything. When we decided to ski one morning, we ordered room service which was very prompt, but the food is expensive and it is a $4 charge just to get the service. These are just a few minor details, but the stay was still great.

it was very straight forward and user friendly. the staff were helpful and very kind.

there was only one minor thing that bugged me, a lady come to our room and knocked, when the door was opened she said "im checking the mini-bar" and walked straight in. i think had she have asked or said more polite i wouldnt have minded but she didn't smile or say thank-you. i thought it was unprofessional.

The hotel has some of the best views of the lake and the Remarkables!

The staff were nice .

The main problem was value for money and the shower. We had no hot water for our stay due to hot water system problems during winter on the 9th floor. We thought winter would be the busy period. We were told to run it for a while but that didnt work. Its not the end of the world and we wont be saying the hotel is terrible but we thought with the money spent we would have had a more comfortable experience.

You should have a wider range of Pay TV channels on offer (something suitable for children). Next time I would ask to stay in the new part of the hotel.

The first room that was offered reeked of cigarette smoke. The second room had another party's luggage. Not impressed. Wouldn't have called it a superior room. more like a regular room, except of course for the price.

Staff where very helpful in allowing me to park my car and trailer with classic car

The way the rooms doors closed. Surely they could make doors than dont make so much noise when being closed. Sick of being woken by doors opening and closing
