I liked the way the staff looked after me. No remote for the tv.was replaced. No free wifi except at the bar. Was charged for chocolate bar from mini bar which I did not use. This was corrected when pointed out.

Proximity to town - easy walking distance Negative, unsmiling, humourless and unfriendly attitude, manner and behaviour of most of the staff. I felt like an unwelcome guest who was putting the staff, checkin staff in particular, to unnecessary and unwelcome work. And their attitude did not change for the 4 nights I was "their guest"!

The stunning view from the dining room, the evening meal, the location. Could have provided more variety in sliced meats & cheese for continental breakfast.

The warmth of the room on arrival, the bar and the restaurant. A bus revving its engine early in the morning - my room backed onto the bus bay.

We were very happy with our stay at Rydges. The staff were very obliging and the room we upgraded to had a great view. The kitchen staff were also prepared to go above and beyond for us by agreeing to fillet and vacuum pack any fish we may have caught on our fishing charter. Thank you for a great stay. We would definitely look to come back and stay again.

Great location. Friendly service. Very clean hotel. We even got a view of the mountains, which I wasn't expecting with a standard room. Spa was outdoors. Would have loved an indoor spa in the winter.

Lake view room. Free car parking available. Very comfortable, convenient to walk to all attractions, restaurants, shops, chairlift, adventure stalls, docks, etc Feels almost like a "little bit of EUROPE" Not having pre paid quote in australia, the total quoted cost was increased by 2 % for the visa card payment.

Staff was friendly. The advertisement through Booking.com was totally misleading. It promised a luxury apartment with lake view. We were accommodated in a shabby, noisy budget room without views, and dishes were not washed. Very disappointed, and will certainly not trust the Booking.com advertisement of this hotel.

Friendly staff The bed in room 1004 was pathetic. Mattress was embarassingly past its use by date. A sheet of timber is used to hold it up flat. We sank into the mattress when tried to sleep. Very uncomfortable. The floor was dirty as if not vacuumed. Ladies hair was scattered on the floor. Stained carpet.

The Fireside Bar is excellent value for drinks and a casual meal. The location is very handy to the shopping/entertainment part of Queenstown - 5 minute walk. Staff excellent, we really enjoyed our stay. Room could have done with new carpet and the TV volume was significantly different for different channels.

Fine location. The "budget double" room we had at this luxury hotel wasn't merely like traveling "coach" while others in the plane are "first class." This was more like traveling "cargo." We stayed in 16 different hotels during our recent visit to New Zealand, and this one had by far the worst bed. There was a half of piece of plywood between the mattress and box spring that made us roll off the edge of the bed when we sat down on the unsupported edge to tie our shoes (there were no chairs in the room for this basic task). Some parts of the bed were like quicksand, while the center was on the plywood board. The manager was apparently unaware of this dismally uncomfortable situation until I took a digital photo of the half piece of plywood. We wound up dragging the mattress off this miserably unsupportive and uncomfortable foundation, and placing it on the floor to get a somewhat uniform sleeping surface. It's a shame that Rydges management has no idea what their miserable beds are made of, until guests take a photo.
