Location, Wifi, laundry cleanliness
Tiny and Mouldy bathroom, room smelt, probable bedbugs, bed stuffed, blinds broken, very noisy, no staff on-site overnight, just terrible..... So different to our experience elsewhere in nz. Aussie couple.
Bed awful ended up with backache next morning. Room needs refurbishment
Liked that it was close to the bus stop, and cafes and glacier walking pick up spot.
The room was dingy with smelly carpets and leaking taps. All this made me question the furnishings and bed spreads.
Value for money. Was a last minute booking. Basic but adequate.
Shower/toilet facilities very basic.
very central location in Fox Glacier
Room tired, grubby, dark No external sitting space Very small windows in room overlooking a wall Worn and dirty carpets in stairways and room apprach
Staff disinterested and the place closed completely at 7:30pm!
The restaurant near by was nice! Location good! Hotel very basic!
No handbasin in bathroom. Poor mattresses. Public bedroom window out onto highway.
great location on the road in a place we really enjoyed visiting
shower was poor, desk staffer was helpful at check in and rude at check out
Staff were helpful when others left a message for me, possibly due to an invisible phone that just rang and rang!!
Location is great.
It felt like a $70/night hotel for closer to $150/night.
Old fashioned and overdue for refurbishment. Not great value for money.
Good central location
We are mature New Zealanders, well travelled and travel Industry related. We do not like being treated like non-customers and refused entry to the dining room for either dinner or breakfast then finding the bar closed before 8.30 pm. At the rates we were charged we do not think that the 3 busloads of Asians should be entitled to more access to the facilities than we were. The staff certainly require an attitude change.
Location, clean modern bathroom, lovely toiletries.
Yes, the rooms are small, the walls are thin, and the parking's cramped but we don't go on holiday to stay inside...ignore this.
Convenient place to stay, right in the middle of town centre, all stores are surrounded.
Where it was situated
the bathroom was extremely small. We had a ground floor room and it felt like elephants were in the room above. Very noisy which affected our sleep.
Room size good, facilities are well acceptable, we had one night of rain and unfortunately the guttering leaked outside of the room and constant dripping kept us awake. Lights from stairwell very strong shone in through windows, (thin curtains). Basically all acceptable, bit dated.
Staff encountered indifferent attitude. No biggie tho!!
Old facility, rooms need to be updated. Clean and comfortable.
Shower/toilet clean. Location in heart of town. Botanical, local product, eco friendly toiletries supplied which were a nice surprise! I've stayed at 4/5 star places that still supply nasty non natural toiletries so was impressed by this small feature.
There were lots of dead flies on our window sill, room smelled musty, bed was old, collapsed in the middle. No basin in bathroom. Sink in main room and had individual cold/ hot taps. Who still uses this?! Could do with some updating. But it was a cheap night's stay.
The town was delightful - the glacier fantastic and the people friendly and helpful - shame about the accommodation and staff
Rooms were shoddy - showers appalling and the staff indifferent
* The location
* This kind of place which provide the minimum because they know they are well located and there is a lot of demand!
The rooms were very basic, bed not good, rooms old fashioned with nothing really matching. Dated. Rooms very noisy able to hear everything from above rooms and adjacent. Breakfast finished serving at 9 am. Very disappointed with this accommodation then we had to pay surcharge for using credit cards.
good price and room facilities like fridge, tea/coffee etc.
a bit aged with very thin walls but you get what you pay for
