The rooms were clean, very adequate and great shower. The chocolate pudding and ice cream was great and a nice touch. I would stay again anytime. Thanks The fish and chips down the road wasn't a great ad for Picton sea food. The blue cod was awful.

We don’t usually stay in backpacker lodges but the Sequoia looked ok and was reasonable priced, so we gave it a go choosing an en suite cabin. It was fine. Not very big but sufficient for our needs. There was a good communal kitchen with everything anyone could want. A lovely bonus was free chocolate pudding an ice cream every night at 8 pm. Don’t be late – it goes fast! Excellent free wifi too. If we were going to Picton again we would definitely choose the Sequoia Lodge again. I guess there is no better recommendation than a willingness to choose the same place for another visit.

This was excellent value for money with a lovely family atmosphere. The staff were lovely and helpful with one lovely lady even taking us to the ferry in her own car as the shuttle was out on a scheduled trip Nothing

Were able to have our dogs with us which stayed in car. Other people staying at lodge moved there cars so we could put our car right beside our room. We also had a jetski on trailer. Everyone was very accommodating The light out side room 33 kept turning on and off and flickering. Mattress was a little thin for us more muture people.

The option of an all-female dorm, the en-suite bathroom, homely atmosphere, Ddub music playing, chocolate pudding bringing guests together, looking forward to a leisurely bike ride to explore town. Superb weather! The disappointment of being put off going for that bike ride because the bikes "aren't much good". Suggest you don't advertise bikes as a feature unless you can provide them.

The staff were both friendly and obliging. The shower was very good and the rooms were quiet.Their WiFi did not reach all the rooms but was easily available in the lounge area. Telephone calls are free to the Picton area. Without a car Sequoia Lodge is quite a step from the main street and harbour. And as there is no public transport it made a lot of walking for an old lady like me !

I loved the free wifi because it's always a struggle to find it in New Zealand. The hostel was cozy and homie, good when your away from home! I loved it!! However the wifi makes it hard for solo travelers like myself to chat with others because everyone is taking advantage of the wifi and not communicating!

Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and spacious communal facilities The Lodge's transfer van starting up every 15 minutes late into night to either collect or deposit travellers elsewhere - very noisy as parked close to rooms.

The opportunity of being shuttled to where one wanted to go at given times of the day. The chocolate pudding and ice cream was lovely. All members of staff were friendly and guests all appeared to enjoy themselves. Would definitely recommend to others. Not having had a car available, the lodge is located a little too far from town for people who are unable to walk too far. However, shuttle service was much appreciated. Our choice though not to have a car.
