Great location for the money. Good off street parking. The staff were very friendly.
Old building and some mildew around the tub but otherwise clean.
Complimentary muesli and fruit for breakfast was yum. Shops in area were interesting. Enjoyed walk through gardens and could also walk to town a leave car at hotel.
No where to hang or put clothes. No hair dryer.
Liked spacious room (7), location in city area, ease of access to Wellington sites, brilliant downstairs - food and beer.
No light in doorway to room off corridor, No complementary breakfast - empty container only, limited parking,
The fact it was very clean, and amazingly quiet for the location. Not flash by any means but very comfortable. Wonderful value for your money when you only need a clean comfortable room for the night.
I cannot think of anything which would make me comment on this question.
Lovely building with a nice historic character. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Great beer. Very handy location in Wellington, easy walk to and from town. Interesting local history all around the location of the Pub.
Upkeep and general maintenance and cleanliness of the rooms was not good which was a shame because the place has such potential.
Everyone very nice! Clean & comfortable but small quarters. Quick service and responses with online booking.
Location. Without a GPS we would never have found the place. Need an elevator. Difficult with heavy luggage (2 -50lb.bags... we had been on 34 day cruise before traveling to New Zealand) or a handicap to get to levels where the rooms were. Need to mention must walk up on line.
Great character in a beautiful old building, friendly informal atmosphere, very helpful staff.
Breakfast included, free use of washing machine and dryer, very friendly staff, free car park
Needs some updating, ther heater was really old but it did work. Room was not really tbat clean but for tbe the price cannot complain
Close to city centre and all tourist spots. Lovely old colonial type hotel, thought that being close to a main road it would be noisy but was the opposite. although it was booked for just accommodation a continental breakfast is given. Would positively recommend staying at this hotel
Only negative was no one available to help with our baggage, and both my wife and I clocking 70+ it would have been nice with a little help to carry baggage up the stairs to our room.
Free Parking, easy walk into Wellington city if attending a function
Nice Location, simple accomodation but clean and friendly
Wifi Problems, facetime did not work.
It was remarkably quiet for such a central location. It had heaps of character and was very comfortable. The staff were really lovely.
Historic house and pub, nice and very big studios, good value for money. Nice allocated close to botanical garden
Poor WiFi signal, a bit old fashion, need some updates
No parking or unloading place when we first arrived. Ok later in the evening
Friendly young staff. Enjoyed the botanical gardens and vale car ride. Lovely boutique art and French style shops right outside the door.
Notoet paper in the shared toilet. Help. Hallway carpet needed vacuuming but not done in 24 hours. Bicycle in hallway a hazard to negotiate with bag.
Room was tired and in need of serious update.
They need staff that was dedicated to the hotel not with the bar
Good food, friendliness of staff, location
Rooms need modernising Poor security door from first floor direct onto lane was unlockable Outdoor area dirty and untidy Breakfast very basic
I've stayed several times at the Shepherd's Arms. It is great value, in a perfect location for business or leisure visits, easy walk to city centre, and convenient for the ferry, motorway etc. Always friendly staff, good food in the bar, and fabulous value for money. Free Wifi, parking, and a do it yourself cereal and fruit breakfast. Small, comfy room with ensuite. A perfect place to stay without spending a fortune.
Nothing to add here.
Quaint little room/bathroom...had everything we needed. Evening meal in the pub was most enjoyable and the heart of Wellington a short walk away.
We were leaving early to catch the ferry ...breakfast was not set up at the time stated...we missed out on the cereals and tinned fruit available.
Big spacious room and a sky box in your room.Old but refurbished nice.
The Shepherds Arms is a great location, helpful friendly staff and great value.
The lightbulb was blown in my room as it was in August, please replace it.
The quaintness of the pub, friendly staff, cozy room, close to city centre, reasonable price, nice bar.
Stero on all night downstairs -noisy
Staff were really friendly at checkin.
Can hear people walking up and down hallway or in next room if they're loud. The night I stayed there, I didn't get much sleep since there was a couple somewhere screaming their heads off at each other. Wasn't pleasant.
