Lyn was a wonderful host, enjoyed the lovely platter she provided with our evening drinks. Great breakfast, try the maple toast!
Very helpful staff
Great location, super friendly staff
Very accommodating with my changing plans. 2 mins to shops. Arrangements in place for my late arrival. Warm and comfortable. Free wifi voucher. Very thoughtful about guests' needs (a father and son booked the last remaining room, a queen, and when I was shifting my plans around, an opportunity to change them to a twin arose. I appreciated seeing this thoughtfulness about their comfort and it meant that I got a bigger bed too). I noticed that guests arriving during the day looked a little lost before seeing a sign to phone on arrival. To avoid the two minute wait (it really was that short), phone a couple of minutes ahead of your arrival in Ohakune.
Fantastic view from my room but because it was at the front of the building, I kept the blinds down most of the time for privacy. Extractor in bathroom quite noisy and there's a creak in one area of the bathroom floor. TV reception a bit blurry.
That said it was comfortable and clean.
It was advertised as a chalet. But it's a three bed flat (in a block of flats), with no view and right beside a train line. It was neither near the snow nor the town facilities.
Unit was warm and comfortable Very quiet Great ski storage Gorgeous outdoor fresco area Manager was very helpful
Cooking utensils were terrible. 3km from shops
Clean, tidy, well presented little unit. Perfect location. Very comfortable
Only negative was that the (very noisy) bathroom fan came on with the light. So we could hear the neighbors trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night
hospitality from Lynn
Beds made up for us during our stay.
The staff were very friendly and the bed was really comfortable. A really good feel in the rooms
I thought there would have been a indoor spa. I would definitely return back every year if there was.
The late arrival possibility. The fact that the hotel was close to the town.
We could hear the outside quite well.
We stayed at the B&B part. Lynn, our host, was great. Friendly, informative, helpful, cooks a great breakfast. :) The house is absolutely beautiful too, and in a reasonably convenient location. Would strongly recommend this accommodation.
Just a small thing, but having the wifi network and password for arrival would be a good improvement.
We stayed at the the B&B and it was just like a home away from home. Such a beautiful house with history, with every comfort you need. Breakfast was a real treat, much more than we expected. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
From memory I don't think they had free Wifi. This wasn't a huge issue for us though.
Personal feel and attention to detail. Welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast (best I've had whilst traveling in New Zealand). Impeccable accommodation and hostess.
Good location. Friendly staff.
No privacy unless you lower the Roman blind and darken the room. You need to install window film or sunscreen blinds. Poor lighting in the rooms and why only one bedside light and table. Very noisy extractor fan in bathroom and no option to leave off... means waking up anyone else sharing your room for night time bathroom visits
Right from the get go, the customer service was excellent. We had arrived an hour earlier than expected but they welcomed us in and already had the room ready so checked us in early! Room was spotless, bed comfy and was on the main street so easy to find and access to the mountain road was right there.
Only down side was the occupants of the next room being up at all hours and walking backwards and forwards in front of our window but that's no big deal!!
Central location Fully equipped kitchenette Locked drying room
Bed was not that comfortable
Our host Lynn made us feel like we're part of the family with home cooked breakfast every morning and chats by the fireplace
What not to like. Can not fault Like being at home.
There was nothing not to like
The Snowhaven was a really lovely place to stay. Very clean, tidy and very central to everywhere. The thing we loved the most was the wonder service and such lovely ladies that we dealt with. Very pleasant. We will be back again.
Handy to e'thing
Small room size
I think if budget allows it would be great to have a spa for the end of the day coming off the mountain or tramp to relax and soak in :)
The location was excellent. Facilities were superb.
We got a room at the entrance that was a bit noisy. But the staff advised us of this on arrival.
It was close to shops and restaurants
Location is great, 2 min walk to restaurants, ski hire, supermarket etc. All rooms are really clean, and have all the amenities you need including gd kitchen facilities. Drying room for wet ski gear is excellent, completely locked up so you don't have to worry about your gear and its perfectly dry ready for another day up the mountain!
