A gorgeous and very unique property- wonderful hots- unobtrusive but so helpful. The fireplace, chandelier and platter a winner- so many lovely features- the amazing gardens, outdoor bath, delicious breakfast....
Lovely grounds and areas to relax in, very helpful owner, comfortable quiet self contained bungalow with every facility. Perfect.
The beautiful gardens with all it's secret nooks, paths and amenities.
The common area and grounds were outstanding and well-maintained. The breakfast included fresh-squeezed orange juice, fresh-baked croissants, breads, and danish, as well as cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, a choice of cheeses, and many nice condiments. We loved the large hot tub spa in the large garden area.
Lovely location amongst fruit trees and beautiful gardens. Scrumptious breakfast with fresh bread and pastries each morning. Friendly service. I would love to come again. Thank you.
Absolutely nothing negative.
Helpful owner, fantastic gardens excellent rooms and very comfortable & stylish shared areas.
Shower in our room was a bit sprinkler like.
The real contact with nature. Beautiful place with an amazing care for details
Choose the place in low season and not weekend you will enjoy
From first email contact until the end, John was extremely helpful, particularly in finding us a restaurant open for Christmas Day lunch. The gardens around the property are beautiful and restful. Breakfast under the vine covered pergola was a very pleasant way to start the day. All facilities were of a high standard and well maintained. St. Andrews Escape definitely has a touch of class.
I'm wracking my brains trying to think of something I didn't like....and I can't!
We were very happy all round
Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous quiet setting. Fantastic gardens and friendly owners. Really enjoyed our stay and will recommend it and stay there again.
The serenity of the surroundings-very peaceful and quiet and beautiful. Our room was beautifully done out.Breakfast was perfect! We loved everything! We were made to feel very welcome. Will definitely recommend to our family and friends,
There is nothing we didn't like
This is a excellent place to relax in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the gardens are well designed with an interesting collection of plants. John is a dedicated and helpful host and breakfast was a treat outside on the terrace.
there was nothing to dislike about this place
Two words sum up St Andrews Escape, tranquil and idyllic. It's not just the rooms, which are comfortable and warm, it's the beautifully appointed communial lounge, the outdoor dining area with bbq where we enjoyed breakfast each morning, the grounds in which you find out-of-the-way places to just relax and enjoy the view and finally the lovely outdoor spa-pool where you can sit and look at the stars while enjoying its beneficial effects. John is an excellent host, warm and generous. Nothing is too much trouble for his guests. He takes a real pride in ensuring your stay is first class.
That we couldn't stay longer........this time
Excellent visit to Havelock North over the weekend and treated to an amazing venue to chill out , relax and enjoy the treats around the town. Weather was great with our host, John being superb at helping out with any matters . Would recommend the setting, facilities and architecture , dropped into a super setting with landscape planting to conceal the buildings so close to the main shops. Will look forward to revisiting to maximise our experience and try a few new wineries. Have a great time at St Andrews. JOHN and JUDITH. Paeroa.
Enjoyed the hospitality. The host John was very attentive and great company. A very pleasant experience. Would do it again.
Everything. But particularly ... Tasteful style. Friendly personal hosts. Lush garden with pockets of surprise at each turn. Space to be alone. Shared areas to be convivial if wanted. Devine massage spa. So many little touches that added to a great experience.
An escape away where birdsong greets you each morning, beautiful surrounding trees & a lovely themed room to stay in. John's breakfasts are awesome with even beautiful warmed bread. Amazing place to return to....
Everything. The whole package.
Just wish there were a few more dim lights by the spa pool. But that's only minor and probably wouldn't have bothered me so much if I was with someone else.
Everything. Highly recommended!
A really stunning B&B - great ambience, gardens, open fireplace and gathering place under the grape vine-draped pagoda. Just lovely!
From the moment you drive through the entrance it's like entering a piece of paradise! So quiet and relaxing, peace and tranquility. No TV - just the sound of birdsong. Lovely spa pool, outdoor fire under vines and a very comfortable lounge. Each room has it's own "feel" and is very well equiped. Wonderful breakfast served by John. A definite 'stay again'!
Having to go home!
The grounds were amazing and the sitting room was very comfortable. There was a bbq area and a hot tub in the grounds. This would really suit a group of friends wanting a relaxing weekend away.
You have to go outside your room to use the bathroom...Could be cold in winter. Next time I will take some slip on shoes.
Charming host. Lovely fresh/ healthy breakfast. Fantastic garden
The surroundings and setting we're exceptional.
Room was a bit small.
What a beautiful setting! Proprietors have done an excellent job of creating private outdoor spaces as well as comfortable and charming common spaces -- would love to return for a weekend with a few other couples. The hot tub was such a treat. Breakfast simple but delicious and fresh.
Bit confusing when you drive onto property -- needs receptions sign.
