We stayed here whilst visiting Milford Sound. Under five minutes to walk to town centre bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Park outside your door.
They have only one dorm and it's very spacious, as are dining and living areas. Enough showers and toilets, everything is clean. Wifi was good but paid. Town is tiny so location doesn't matter, anyway 5 min to everything.
Lack of sockets. Have to pay $5 for all kitchen wire and for lockers to keep it. No free salt, sugar or anything. Do not allow to check in earlier but can keep luggage.
Paid wi-fi useless as could not use in cabin because signal strength was too weak. Room was quite dated.
Easy to find, close to downtown restaurants & grocery store
Wi-fi challenging as it can be all over NZ
The staff helper, Lisa, was incredibly helpful. She helped us book on a tour and was very informative. :) The kangaroo jumper was pretty cool too!
Seriously? A dorm with three plug outlets, two of which you have to go under other people's beds to get to? We've had cellphones for a couple of decades now, isn't it time you starting catching up to technology????
It was very peaceful and well presented
was a bit disappointing when we paid for a delux family cabin and the TV wouldn't work on most of the channels. A kitchen sink would be nice for when you are making a hot drink.
The kitchen was very clean and was great to use. It was lovely to sit down in the dining room afterwards. We hired a kitchen utensils box that had everything we needed. Everything was very well organised. Also very close to the shops, easy walking distance.
The shared kitchen was quite large. The heater in our room was sufficent for the cold nights.
The room didn't include blankets so bring your own sleeping bag or blanket.
Cleanliness, newness, friendliness at a very reasonable price.
Only one barbeque hot plate for the barbie.
Checkout time was 10am like everywhere else, but this was the only place where we were asked to leave the property by 10am, and they gave us problems when we asked to stay for a few moments to prepare our food for the next day
Friendly staff, perfect location, easy parking, cleanliness
Not knowing that we would have to pay for necessities/extras (e.g. linens, Wi-Fi, pots/pans). Wi-Fi service in the evening.
Very good value and clean.
Wifi didn't work
Good room and location to get to Milford Sound. Staff was helpful
Had to pay extra for sheets and towels. Also paid for wifi which sucked
The heat pump was so appreciated.
The shower curtain was the only demarcation between shower, toilet and basin. It was inadequate to prevent unpleasantly wet floors.
I think the hostel should have a more considerate policy to allow the guest to hang around in the compound after checking out in the morning and while waiting for his bus departure in the evening. Do not have to be so business-minded by asking the guest to pay up some additional fees for wanting to hang around while waiting for his departure time. After all, the guest had already contributed some money to the hostel already. They did not stay there fo free.
Comfort of double bed
Friendly staff with many facilities all within a 10 minite walk. Self contained unit with kitchen which we used day to day. Would stay again as great value for money.
The only gripe would be the internet speed as some days it would not work.
Very well run holiday park with good facilities and well positioned for the town and lake.
Price, staff, communal kitchen, location good if you have no car.
West facing therefore very hot in the unusually hot summer days we were there. Camping is stark due to lack of trees.
Very nice and beautiful holiday park with a good kitchen, BBQ facilities etc. Our room was tidy and comfortable.
If you want stay here, please, read the Fine Print carefully: be sure that you have your own towels and blankets (!!!) to avoid additional fees. No free wi-fi.
close to restaurants and town
The bed was extremely hard.
Te location is excellent. Good price and friendly staff. We stayed for 3 nights.
We could feel the springs in the queensized bed. But not a big deal, just a notice.
Familly house was awseome.
The room was spacious and clean
There were only 2 power sockets in the room to be shared between 10 bunks, and they were placed very far from the bunks
