Te Waonui Forest Retreat  

The welcome was warm but a little confusing in that at the same time we were checking in we were offered luggage removed from car, valet parking,drink and warm cloth . a few minutes to get a breath would have been easier and to sort out what we needed from car.But staff were great at all times.And we appreciated the champagne and nibbles in our room.....I Guess for our 52nd anniversary which I had mentioned when booking...a wee note to say so would have been nice.or do all visitors get this?? The dinner and breakfast were well up to expectations, and we enjoyed them very much.Again, great staff who have been well trained and take pride in their work.

Bed was not turned down and used mugs not cleaned on our return after dinner. This to me is more important than having toilet roll fancily pleated, and fresh towels after one use, that is not being ecco friendly! We felt the cost was excessive. We have stayed at many similar holiday places and never had to pay that amount .Many places are equal or better for quite a bit less, so we would not have a return visit to you but would try some of the other accomodation in the village or surroundings.We will tell others that we enjoyed being with you but would suggest they look at other more reasonable options.I Think you capture the wealthy over seas tourists and not middle income N.Z.er'S.
