Fabulous hotel, very attentive friendly staff, great food (dinner in 50 bistro delicious, and breakfast choice fantastic) Very well located for the centre and botanical gardens
Made to feel welcome Spoilt High standard
Good service from all staff, modern
Bathroom glass door / walls & bathroom door does not close all the way
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed, even though we were two 'average looking' 40 somethings from Australia. We were also stoked with the upgrade to a park suite ! Something we still *wow* about today :) Treated very well every where in the hotel. Even the chef accommodated our food request, which was great. The food was amazing.
The fact I didn't tip anyone as it was the end of our trip and I had a lack of funds at hand. (sorry)
Great people Good Breakfast Location
everything esp my suite with such a great view
nothing at all Its a great place and you have great staff
Everything. Your staff are the best trained we have found.
I am a cigar smoker, a more protected area would be appreciated. simular to Ridge's in Christchurch. You were fully booked
The staff. They were incredibly courteous and made the stay. Really impressive. They could not have been more helpful.
The staff were wonderful - so friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and we enjoyed walking from the hotel around the central city
Luxuriously cosy, homely feel. Very welcoming staff. A luxurious retreat.
Nothing. It was a wonderful stay.
Customer service and friendly staff. Excellent dinners in both restaurants although a little disappointed by breakfast buffet. We loved finding George, a complimentary teddy bear, on our bed one night!
Stayed twice during our tour of South Island. First stay we were in a dark gloomy room on ground floor looking out into a hedge. Second stay we were up on the 3rd floor and the room was lovely and bright.
I loved the suite. Generously equipped with a mini bar. There was a lounge area. The bathroom was generous in size and was very modern. The bath products were simply divine... more bath salts would have been wonderful! George the Bear. (He travelled the whole island with us and will continue to travel with our family.) Such a gorgeous touch and I can't wait to visit again to get him a companion. Turn down service is always a nice touch which is where we were introduced to George Bear! Pre ordered goodies as we missed dinner with the time difference... Not all was provided, but there were GF macarons which were delicious. The staff were lovely.
Not sure whether we needed to tip the porter, but he hung around the room, so thought this was the way to get him to go. It worked. Asked for a selection for GF snacks for our arrival as we missed our meal time with the time difference. A cheese platter was provided, but the crackers were wheat based and they touched everything on the plate. (this request was put in 6 months in advance and there were multiple emails confirming what was required.) The price of beer was very expensive.
Clean and nice
Very overpriced. Would not choose it again
Staff, we were there with a a funeral and numerous overseas people and the staff couldn't have been better with their help, consideration and facilities that we were able to avail our selves of.
Staff is VERY helpful and go out of their way to assist you.
The service was good and friendly except for one young man on duty who I felt was out of line and inappropriate to the situation . The two platters sent out for our party were lovely and tasty
I felt the reception area lounge suites and decor was dated and unattractive also loud vacuuming outside our room at 8.30 am and staff talking not so welcome .exspensive enough for what we got
Excellent customer service. Wonderful meals in both restaurants. Thrilled to find teddy bear 'George' on our bed on last night. A lovely touch.
Our ground floor room was very dark but we stayed on floor 3 during a subsequent stay and that was much nicer.
Lovely personal touches, easy access to Internet and printing (great when travel plans change), food
The room itself, the room service, the extremely helpful staff.
An excellent hotel with the rooms clean and well done with to high end. The staff were very helpful , however the price is a bit on the higher end. I would certainly consider staying at the hotel
The food - two EXCELLENT restaurants, and staff who tried hard to make it a memorable experience, even on a holiday (Easter) weekend. Nice rooms and nice staff all round, who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to help.
Christchurch is still more of a disaster scene, from the earthquake, than I imagined, but neither that (nor the wasteland around the hotel) are the hotel's fault. And, it is expensive.
friendly helpful staff,cleanliness
remotes flat batteries
Unique way to make the guest remember the stay by giving a teddy bear, the concierge service was excellent, even the food at the restaurant was very good, the staff courteous and helpful
The breakfast should be made available to the guests of booking.com complimentary or at a reasonable price. On the site of booking.com Bed and Break Fast option does not appear or at least I could not see it at the time of booking, The Hotel did not offer any complimentary/Paid pick up service upon receiving the booking, this offer should be made available to all the overseas/domestic passengers arriving by Air
Though unassuming from the outside, this is a stylish, modern, luxurious hotel on the inside. Plus, there was terrific service from everyone we encountered (front desk, concierge). I have seen some minor complaints here and elsewhere about bathrooms and general cleanliness, but our room was clean, large, and comfortable (and we had no problems with the bathroom). Dinner in the hotel's 50 on Park restaurant was actually quite good, too. The location was perfect for exploring Christchurch--the big park is right across the street, and the city center and botanical gardens are all walkable from there.
Pricey--maybe a bit overpriced, though I don't know that there is any comparable hotel in Christchurch right now.
Everything looked new/clean. The restaurant was excellent.
The lobby/bar area was quite loud. The bathroom was very bizarre/not user-friendly...particularly the shower.
