The streets to the top of the hill can be challenging to negotiate, being very narrow and winding.
Although free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the property, there had been some problems with it at the time of our visit, so it was a bit sketchy.
There is no air conditioning, and as we found throughout NZ, there are no screens on the windows. It was very hot when we visited, but leaving the windows open after dark brought a lot of insect visitors. This is not any different from the other B&B's we experienced in the country, but Napier was warmer than the other places we visited.
The house is very modern, with a huge amount of glass that lets one feel a part of the view. Jill and Allan are most accommodating hosts, and a great deal of fun. Jill's breakfasts are outstanding with homemade muesli, loads of fresh fruit, and a cooked breakfast made to order if desired.
Parking at the B&B is available in one of the 2 garages. Jill and Allan are very willing to drive guests down into town if they don't want to take their car, and a taxi back to the house is only about $10NZD. We were there during Art Deco Weekend when parking was impossible in town, so this was a much appreciated service.
Rooms are very clean and well-supplied, with comfy beds, tv's and a complimentary bottle of local wine.
