Located on the water's edge, this boutique hotel offers free Wi-Fi access, en suite bathrooms, and flat-screen TVs with 60 cable channels. Guests can relax in the gardens or on the verandas with harbour views. Originally built in 1861 and completely restored in 2009, The Old Oak features modern bathrooms, kitchenettes and heating in each luxury suite. New lighting, plumbing and insulation have also been installed. Each room includes telephones for local calls, bathroom amenities, hairdryers, bathrobes, and tea/coffee making facilities. All extra large king-size beds can be separated into 2 large single beds. The Old Oak Boutique Hotel features a colonial-inspired garden with organic herbs and vegetables, a beautiful rose garden, petanque court, and a courtyard patio with garden views. Acorn Bar & Bistro is located next door to The Old Oak. The restaurants and cafes of Mangonui town centre are within a 5-minute walk. Cable Bay Beach is only 5 minutes’ drive away. The Hotel is very tastefully decorated and our hosts were very accommodating to our particular needs and moved us from an upstairs suite to the downstairs one which we appreciated. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom spacious and the closeness to the sea was beautiful.

Warm welcome Outside area to meet friends and relax with wine.. Proper coffee to have at night.The whole ambience of the place. Location excellent for exploring the area and the view--- made me want to retire. Wish there was breakfast!!!

We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated that a booking was made for us for dinner at the Thai restaurant. It was the best Thai meal we have had. The room was lovely, with great attention to detail and care taken to ensure our comfort. We will stay again if in Mounganui

Es ist ein kleines, sehr stilgerecht, eingerichtetes Hotel. Die Betreiber sind sehr freundlich. Wir waren zwei Paare. Es standen beim Buchen nicht mehr dieselben Zimmerkategorien zur Verfügung. Als wir ankamen, haben wir für die tiefere Kategorie ein Upgrade erhalten. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in November 2012. The owner was very friendly and when we arrived she had upgraded our room for free! The hotel is a gorgeous boutique hotel, very light, fresh and oh so comfortable! We were only planning to stay one night but opted to stay another night! Defiantly the nicest hotel that we have stayed in in New Zealand so far!
