Would definately stay here again it was wonderful
our request for twin beds in one room was not met , however , management quickly solved the problem by giving us an extra room at no additional cost .
All of it
Wraparound balcony to enjoy the view.
Great staff, good facilities and perfect location.
Being on the ground floor was a bit noisy from above and front door.
it was very pleasant to be upgraded at no cost to a larger room
noticeable smell from next door restaurant at times
Enjoyed our two nights at the hotel. We were offered an upgrade but did not take it as we wanted to be on the ground floor. But I thought that was a very nice offer. Love our trim though the bed was a little soft. The wifi in the room was very weak but I guess that is more the norm in this part of the country. We were offered a beach umbrella so we could spend a lovely day by the beach. Staff and hosts were friendly and the hotel was very nicely decorated and very clean. There is a great Indian Restsurant next door and an excellent Thai restaurant two mins walk from the hotel. The sweet Chilli Fish was superb! Very popular so go early for dinner.
Weak wifi signal.
Our stay at The Old Oak was just perfect. The hotel is lovely and well located, and the view was beautiful! WiFi worked perfectly as did everything else. The little kitchenette was great for making breakfast, the bed was comfortable and the staff very helpful.
Very well located property with excellent hosts.
Beautiful decor of room. Attention to detail of whole hotel. Bathroom was fantastic. Monster the super friendly cat!
Room was very small, not much room to walk around the bed
Thank you for a lovely stay. I was upgraded to a bigger room, free of charge. The rooms, and the hotel itself, had wonderful character and had clearly had a very sensitive restoration.
Minor quibble but the bed was 2 singles pushed together and always slightly less comfortable than a real double bed but was still comfy!
Beautiful tastefully renovated historic hotel. Fantastic comfortable beds. Great bathroom. Very friendly, accomodating and informative owners/manager.
That I didn't stay longer.
Jean and Gary made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived . Beautiful room and lovely bed with all the comforts we wanted on a break away. We will definitely be back
- Quality of rooms - Warm service - Location
WIFI was not working probably in all the rooms (Kauri).
The tide was in in the morning and gave a super view of the bay across the road.
Everything was really great. The outside area, the location, the bed the tv reception, all the plates glasses etc all great quality and much appreciated.
We had a issue with the shower but as soon as I told the caretaker manager it was fixed.
Beautiful interior and very nice hosts.
Lovely, friendly host & staff. Beautiful room, spacious & tastefully decorated. Parking at door. Stunning view from front door. Easy walk to restaurants & cafes. Absolutely perfect.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
Gary and Jean were wonderful hosts. We arrived late and Gary was there to welcome us, and the Indian restaurant nextdoor was still open until 10 pm! The room and building were fabulous. We stayed in Ruru Suite, with two bedrooms, a kitchen and sitting room, and the best part was the veranda looking over the water. I can't wait to have a reason to come stay here again!
Everything was wonderful, nothing we didn't like!
Very friendly hosts, great location
No toaster, or any plates and cutlery
We loved the upgrade to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. The welcome was friendly the location perfect. Our bed was sheer luxury.
What sets this hotel apart is just how incredibly, welcoming, friendly and kind the Hostess and Host are. From the moment you arrive they provide you with a wealth of information of activities to do, places to see and how to plan a trip to Cape Reinga and back. The room we stayed in was a ground floor room, was very comfortable, great bed, a TV that had a USB port so you can watch movies, a nice fridge space to put food in for any trips you may have planned. We unfortunately had some car problems and couldn't get back to Auckland. The Host, drove us around 70km (a 140Km round trip for him) to the nearest coach station. It was an incredibly kind thing to do and something my fiancee and I will not forget. The Indian restaurant next door is also worth while a trip to. The overall feel of the hotel is that your staying somewhere that has been lovingly and tastefully restored. Comfortable and modern on the inside, but traditional on the outside.
No negatives, we have a wonderful, comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend staying at the Old Boutique Hotel.
It was handy to walk to 5 or 6 different restaurants, wifi was good and easy to park.
Not that we needed to use it - the kitchenette is a microwave, sink and jug - suits heating up but not for those planning to stay longer and cook.
The staff were excellent. Loved the whole place. Jean went out of her way to find someone to take him fishing. Found the hotel on a website. It was a perfect choice for the beginning of our holiday
It was all very good
