Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Travellers’ Lodge offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking. The Park Travellers’ Lodge is at the foot of a large ski field and volcano at Mt Ruapehu. It is surrounded by two other famous mountains Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. The natural setting around the Lodge is ideal for mountain biking, rafting, hiking, rock climbing, fishing or relaxing in thermal springs. Each room at the Park Travellers’ Lodge includes an en suite bathroom and comes fully-furnished with a bed, work desk, and a refrigerator. Guests of the Park can enjoy the Spiral Cafe and Bar, serving fine international cuisine, drink, and award-winning Allpress espresso coffee. It has a lovely feel to it, we were there in autumn but I imagine in winter it would be great. There is a large open dining room with a huge central fire which would be great after a day of skiing. The beds were too soft, so sharing a double was uncomfortable as we ended up almost lying on top of each other

I spent quality time with my daughter from overseas..in pleasant surroundings. I did not like the access to the room...or the fact that only one bed could view the TV..

The location is excellent! And the restaurant/bar is very good. We stayed at standard room. The room is nice but missing tv in room. For this reason, our stay was not so good by price that we paid.

Sehr freundliches Personal, großes Badezimmer, gute Betten, gutes Essen im eigenen Restaurant; Frühstücksbuffet überbezahlt für die Auswahl; Zimmer sind sehr dunkel und im Vergleich zum Bad auch recht eng.

Freundliches Personal und das es eine grosse Küche gab in der man sich selber verpflegen kann. Ein Billiard Tisch und evtl. einen Fernseher auf dem Zimmer, es hat nur geregnet und dann ist man wirklich aufgeschmissen.

The Park Travellers' Lodge liegt in idealer Nähe zum Skigebiet. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber komfortabel und sauber. Der Restaurant- und Barbereich ist gemütlich und bietet leckeres Essen. Das kostenpflichtige W-Lan-Netz war in unserem Zimmer nur sehr schwach zu empfangen.

We experienced fantastic service, especially from the bartender/waiter from Surrey. He was really on to it and friendly, he managed the restaurant, cafe and bar no matter how busy it got - and it did get busy - with ease. Impressive. Our room had virtually no natural light. That was a real disappointment. It had no view at all, unlike many of the other rooms that at least faced out over a courtyard area and the hot tubs. The room was the big let down.

The staff were really friendly, great atmosphere, and close to the mountain! Nice warm rooms too. Found it hard to meet fellow travellers though, so checked out a day early.
