Loved the all out effort by staff to make our stay comfortable. Noise between rooms, could hear water running & a child crying for much of early morning.

Very close to all major attractions - Puke Ariki, Govett Brewster, Pukekura Park, coastal walkway. Bed especially comfortable. Road noise in restaurant. Single lift made access slow especially when staff are doing room servicing.

Good location - central... Good cafe - breakfast, lunch and dinner were quite good, nice balcony... Pretty solid all around as a business or weekend hotel in nz... Upper end for small town nz... Rooms were fine - tv and cable were light... Not a great value at full price rates - it's worth the $150p/n paid but not the $250 plus full price. Any hotel in the 21st century that charges over $20 for internet deserves a zero for value for this type of shameless money grab. This hotel is a bit disengenuous for they tell you you get a free hours worth of internet, but the clock starts the minute you log on and times out after one hour - then its $29 for 24 hours.

Close to walkways. seaside and restaurants, museum, We had to pay $ 100 extra to check out 3 hours later after been there 4 nights. Not very friendly after requesting this before check out time. We did not just stay longer ;we asked beforehand. I would hesitate to return for that reason even though the rest was good and excellent. I think if you have stayed 4 nights they could show some appreciation. The $ 100 for the 3 extra hours compared to $ 133 for a whole night. I think $ 25.00 or even $ 50 would have been fine if you had stayed one night, but after 4 nights I would waive it if I was in charge out of courtesy having also used meals there and a bill of over $ 1000.

I was misfortunate to lose my cell phone in npl airport . Felicity at reception as well as others were extremely helpful to try and locate my phone up until the day I checked out , at every stage of my coming and goings from the hotel they asked if I had found out .Albeit I have not since located it . For the despair i felt losing such an item on business travel , an every stage I know the staff were trying the best to locate it for me . It is the 3 rd time I have stayed at the hotel in 4 times to NPL and will not be last . And every time the staff have been helpful and it is also good to see the same faces working there . Must be a great place to work

Thought at 275nzd this was very overpriced for new Plymouth. Yes, the room was nice, but not that special Also very annoyed at the addition of credit card surcharge on the entire bill, even though the room had been paid or in full in advance. This should have been made clear at the time of booking. To then pay a surcharge on the Internet cost, which purports to be the final cost, except for extras such as minibar, food etc, outrageous

location, parking, double glazing (very little noice), ceiling fan. coffee facilities - no cloth to wipe up spills, had to use a flannel as the plunger caused many problems when trying to push down filter, twice! realise it is not a dinette however a knife for our crackers and cheese or a bread plate to put them on would be good. bathrobes are very old and worn. bed hard and uncomfortable.
