The location was good and staff attentive. Decor was uplifting and attractive.
Was concerned to see the owner put an unloved finger into the food. Perhaps testing temperature but not appropriate.
Friendly staff, nice modern room and fabulous location right in the centre.
Everything you would require for a great stay, helpful staff and friendly the room was huge and so comfortable.
Nothing to add to this section.
Close to everything
Location excellent close to all amenities
Parking was a shambles. Not enough parking onsite to cater for all guests. It said on website first in first served as far as parking was concerned. Told not to park on site as early arrivals and overnight guests had booked parking. From our rooms viewpoint it looked suspicously like owners and there mates had priority parking. Told to park on street requiring payment (metres).
Great location. Lovely comfortable beds. Very clean.
Only one soap supplied for both hand washing & shower. Could have done with hooks or rails in bathroom to hang clothes/towels. Car parking hard to get in & out in our long car..so we mostly parked on the road outside.
No wifi information at all. A few cups provided were really dirty and coffee stains remained from previous customers. Next day when we came back to the room, our used cup and empty bottle were left on the bench as we used, bed making was not made AT ALL, the bath matt was left as we used, just some new towels were left on the bed. We have been doing a budget trip and this hotel was the most expensive one, but the poorest service.
The room looked like the picture with everything it promised.
Cups stained, one teaspoon was still dirty.
Room was good large space
lack of utensils/plates in the room and the lack of parking
Our room was a corner room and very pleasant, spacious, and well laid out. Would definitely stay here again for the room. Bed was excellent. Good value for money.
When we booked online we were lead to believe there would be parking. But free parking at the hotel is limited. When we asked about parking we were told very indifferently that all the parking was taken and we could pay to park on the street. The street parking is cheap but the way were were told this in a very offhand dismissive manner gave us a bad impression. All the signs and information in the hotel are out-of-date. The information in our room said that parking was strictly on a first-in first-served basis but there seemed to be some preferential booking system in place. We asked about the jazz downstairs as advertised and the receptionist didn't have a clue what we were talking about. Not very professional.
Comfortable beds & great location. Helpful staff.
Left sign out for room to be made up. Clean towels left but bed was not made up. Disappointing. We were relieved the cafe was not operating during our visit as we were on the first floor above it!
The location was great, walking distance to everything, and the room was very clean, tidy and new.
There was no sky, no bickies, no rubbish bin in the bathroom, no hot chocolate, no daily cleaning service. All little things I know, but when you stay in as many places as I have, these little things often make the difference. Also surprised the restaurant and bar weren't open at such a busy time.
modern hotel like facilities. Great view over Clive Square
watch out for the parking, they don't have enough and you can't book it. First in first served which secures your car park for the duration of your stay. We missed out, had to park on the street.
We were arriving very late but Robert was only too happy to make arrangements for us to park and let ourselves in. Large room. Great central location.
Bed a bit soft for my liking but sleeping diagonally sorted that out.
Loved the location and how central it is. Managers were awesome and very friendly.
parking a little tight but not a complaint
close to shops, bars and cafe,,, nice clean tidy Hotel and friendly staff.
black hair in bottom of shower
Really helpful staff made a really enjoyable stay. They accommodated a late change to our rooms when our request was difficult so really appreciated great service.
Wasn't sure why the restaurant wasn't open when they said the hotel was full. Not a problem as very central location meant heaps of choices within walking distance.
Location to shops and cafes Helpfulness of staff
meagre parking facilities Noise from nearby pub till 3am
Heat pump in the room. Had a great view over the garden and the location was excellent for our requirements.
The wobbly glass coffee table - had to be careful that nothing fell off. The lounging chairs were so low, you couldn't comfortably reach the table provided to use for the laptop.
Was a great location for the centre of town. Bed was comfortable
We could here the music from the bar next door.
Truthfully their wasn't much to like we were extremely disappointed. For the cost of the place and what they offered was poor.
We didn't get much sleep at all due to they had a band playing down below our room which thumped most the night till late. It was basic and quite dirty not what you expect for a four star accomodation. The amenities were poor on offer and they didn't go to any extra service over and above. Our advice don't stay there as the choice of places in Napier is far superior than this one which offer better value for money. A big disappointment to us and frankly a waste of money and a sleepless uncomfortable night on top.
I asked for a quiet room and was given one on the top floor which was fantastic, the location is very central and the staff very friendly and accommodating.
Not enough parking for guests only 8 -9 spaces for all the rooms and basic room facilities for a 4 star hotel.
Staff very courteous and obliging Hotel very central within the CBD and easy walking for shopping and sightseeing
Our room did not have a compendium - apparently still being printed Sky TV not available No internal contact number to hotel reception - had to contact reception by using my mobile phone Restaurant hours not published for patrons Restaurant was not opened on one day due to the Head Chef being sick - what happened to the 2IC Parking inadequate - why does'nt the hotel pursue some parking arrangements with the management of the car parking building across the road on a quid pro quo basis for patrons Need an extra towel rack in the bathroom room for handtowels/facecloths No radio/clock
nothing not to like
