Village Motel  

The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. The bed very comfortable. The units just feel good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free wifi. Location is perfect, close to the best coffee shops in the Bay, supermarket and other shops. I highly recommend this motel if you want to stay in a quiet village, yet only a short drive from major shops, and only 5 minutes drive from Te Mata Peak, a great place for your daily walks...

I had no negative experience.

The friendly staff, the unit was cleaned everyday, fresh towels and rubbish removed. Loved that it was so close to the village. Very beautiful surroundings.

No drawer for clothes

Quiet location, close to many major attractions, close to Hastings Show grounds. Spacious rooms, free wi-fi, big spa pool, nice amenities. Comfortable beds. Friendly and accommodating staff. Proximity to shopping.

Handy, convenient and just what we needed when attending a wedding in Havelock North

Location was good for walking to restaurants and bars

Owner/Manager was very welcoming a great to talk to.

There was in sufficient cupboard/storage space in the kitchen area. The charge for two people stay was on the high side.

We were staying at the Motel for the Bee Gees concert. We needed transport to get to the venue, the bus company was fully booked but when I spoke to Tony he said leave it to me. He organized a bus, paid for the tickets to secure our seats before we arrived. This was all beyond the call of duty, needless to say we have booked for the next concert. The rooms were large clean and airy and had everything in them you could want. We had a great stay.

The larger rooms and super King size bed. Easy to get to the shopping center and Restaurants in Havelock North.

Shower over the bath with no adjustment or pressure. Something that is found in a third rate motel and not expected for the star rating or prices charged. The bathroom curtain was moldy when pulled down and that tacky note about the dishes was not appropriate for a motel of this rating and price. Very disappointing for the price. Expected better.

A few more toiletries and a sachet of real coffee would have been nice for the coffee pot supplied. Receptionist on arrival could have been a little more welcoming

Lovely large apartment with good sized bathroom and well stocked kitchen (utensils and cookware).

Very hot (no air-con), and it would have been nice to have had a small table and chair set for outside as the less expensive upstairs studios did.

Beautiful room. Convenient location to town and to head out to Hastings or Napier. The people at the motel were very efficient, exceptionally friendly and very helpful. The breakfast's were absolutely yummy and lots of it.

Room lighting was too harsh. Light dimmers would have helped. Internet access was patchy.

Our apartment at the Village Motel was spacious, clean, modern, well furnished, and with a bed that looked big enough for the entire All Blacks team! It was huge! It was also extremely comfortable with a good firm mattress (I hate soft soggy beds - bad for the back). There was a bedside radio alarm with ipod/iphone socket, and there were plenty of other sockets for any other electrical equipment - laptops etc. The wifi access is good. There is a large flat screen tv - but be warned - NZ TV is atrocious! Wall-to-wall "reality" programs and not a single decent news program. Radio is pretty much restricted to pop music. So make sure you take your Kindle! The room also boasted a spa pool, although I really didn't make much use of this. The bathroom was as spacious as the rest of the apartment. We were provided with loads of large fluffy white towels that were changed every day, and lovely towelling bathrobes. The apartment had a small kitchen unit with twin radiant hotplate, microwave and fridge. This was more than adequate to prepare a simple meal and Havelock has plenty of cafes and restaurants only a couple of minutes walk away, as well as a good New World supermarket. The Motel also offers a breakfast service for those who prefer not to make their own. Our room was on the 1st floor with access on to the terrace with a table and chairs. It faced over the village towards TeMata peak and it was nice to sit in the sun and relax a while there with my Kindle. The Motel is set back from the road so traffic was rarely disturbing. The Village Motel is excellently situated in Havelock North, very close to all the shops, cafes and restaurants. It makes an ideal base for anyone with business in Hastings and Napier. It is also a good base for those interested in visiting the region's many wineries. The owner and his wife were friendly and helpful, and we would certainly recommend The Village Motel to anyone visiting the area.

We required a disability room and it was perfect for our purpose. The room was immaculate and well appointed - also quiet.

Check the bottom of the bathroom door- it needs a slight repair. Unit 4.
